What was your most embarassing moment?
by kwijibo inmine was at the kh giving a talk - got muddled up and almost said the f word into the mike.
in fact - i said it in my mind or under my breath and then panicked because i thought i had said it out loud but the audience didn't seem to react so i new i must have not said it out loud.
i wonder if anyone noticed me breaking into a cold sweat........... anyone got any more?

I had an assembly part, one of those silly demos where I approached a lady in the checkout line in the grocery store... gag!! Anyway, we had to do the demo three weekends in a row to cover the whole circuit. The first weekend I was nervous but did fine. The second weekend I was more relaxed. I got a few seconds into it and completely and totally forgot my lines. Blank, nada, zip, zero. I stopped mid sentance even.. a horrible eternity passed.. I glanced at the audience.. I giggled.. at least five hours later the brother giving the talk promted my next line and everything clicked and I was fine for the rest. The third weekend I was sooo nervous, I did just fine.
You can all guess which weekend the part of the circuit I knew was at.. even my worldly father came because I had a part.. every person I had grown up with, any guy I had ever hoped to impress.. sigh, I wanted the earth to swallow me whole.

FARTING IN THE KINGDOM HALL.
by nightwarrior ini was lead to beleive that cleanlinness was next to godliness, that jehovah is a clean god, .
as we as a family sat down behind ( being the operative word ) a couple of elderly sisters ,arriving late we took the only seats available, even then we caused disruption as we even i were fighting over the seats as to where one would sit ,sure enough i allways seemed to end up in the firing line of these elderly fat arsed sisters, whom allways ended up farting in your face, the smell was so strong that you could actualy taste the stench it in the air 10 minutes later,i allways felt sick ,my children grinning .
how did you cope yourself

LOL, calamityjane, We had a brother who did the same thing, no one would sit in front of him.. he'd pick his nose, I'm talking knuckle deep, and then examine what he found there like it was some kind of treasure.. roll it around it his fingers for a bit.. then, flick.. it would go sailing!
He was the same age as me, and I was 20 when I moved from this particular Hall, and he was still doing it then. Four year olds get in trouble for this kind of behavior! My Bro-in-law was an Elder in this hall, I asked him why no one talked to this brother about his... um.. problem. Bro-in-law said they had talked to him numerous times, but it wasn't anything they could discipline him for, so their hands were tied.. hmmm.. to bad they couldn't tie the brothers hands.

Warm and fuzzy
by outbackaussie intoday i was blessed with the joy of having a person ring me to see how i was doing....purely because i hadn't been posting and they were worried about me.
kelpie, that was just the nicest thing and i spent the rest of the day feeling fantastic.
yep our very own kelps took the time to look up my listed number and give me a call :) it was great to talk to a net buddy and hear her voice (and it is a very sweet voice indeed) and i just wish i'd had more time to chat.

Logansrun.....has arrived
by logansrun ini just thought i would post a little about myself here, even though some of you might know me from the "beyond jehovah's witnesses" forum.
my name is bradley and i live in a suburb of chicago illinois.
i'm currently twenty six years old and left the jws about nine months ago after a year and a half of intense doubts, many hundreds of hours of research, cognitive dissonance and bouts of vomitting (stressful, eh?).

what is there to say, other than EEEEWWWWW! or maybe UCK!
This is one of the more disgusting stories I've heard.
I'm sure we will learn all about how abusive the mother was, or some such, when they go to trial.Mystla

My SO has comeback that I can't wait to use.. I'm actually looking forward to the next telemarketer!
It's so simple, I'm sure you've heard it before.
When they call, let them start and then break in with "excuse me, I'm sure you've heard this before, but.." and hang up.
I'm too nice, though, and will probably wait until I've told them I'm not interested a couple times, but if they keep going after that...

I guess I was never a very good Dub, I always hated these pictures. The very idea of smiling and being all happy while so many people suffer and die. I would look at those pictures and think about the worldy people I knew, none of whom I thought deserved such a fate. My Father and Grandmother were first to come to mind, followed by school teachers and nice people I had met in service.
I think that cold blooded murderers deserve to die.. beyond that, I can't even imagine how any one could be happy while people die... children, for gods sake!! and those horrible pictures always made it so vivid, the pain and suffering these people would go through at the end. All those times I should have been meditating on how wonderful the new system would be, I couldn't get it out of my head how horrifying the last moments would be for those destroyed.
A loving god? I don't think so!!
