Withholding sex in a relationship or marriage

i once heard that when you first get married, you should take a jar and put a penny it in each time you have sex your first year.

then after the first year, take a penny out for each time you have sex, and that jar would never go empty.

basically, the sex gets old and you never do it much after the first year.

Amen!!!! My first hubby and I were not compatible.. to put it mildly. We would go for months without sex, I had to work at it for weeks to get him to have sex with me. I was so frustrated and depressed. It's common knowledge that men want sex all the time .. so what was wrong??? I assumed it was me. It was almost a relief to find out he's gay.. it explained soooo much!!!

Current hubby and I have a much better record.. making up for lost time and all.

For those who were raised in "the truth"

how many of you always felt like you would be killed at armageddon no matter what you did... it was never enough and your parents put a guilt trip on you?

I was so horrified by the impending distruction (gotta love those WT illustraters!) I was kinda hoping I would die before the big A hit.. then I wouldn't have to see it, I would just sleep for awhile and then wake up in paradise!! during my deeper depressions the idea of just sleeping, nevermind paradise, sounded good...

I'm so glad I'm out and don't have to think that way anymore.

On a side note.. I remember when I was really little, before I understood the destruction part, I would wake up in the morning and look out my window to see if it was paradise out there yet. I'm not sure what I expected to see.. we lived in the country.. mountain lions being nice to the cows or something, I guess

I don't think that the man she married felt bad about the situation. He was old and rich and he bought what he wanted: a playboy bunny to spend his remaining time on earth with. I'm pretty sure he was happy as a clam. He also probably thought it was great to stick it to his money grubbing family who had been waiting for him to die so they could inherit.

She let that wrinked up old man touch her in ways I don't want to think about and deserved some compensation.. this is an age old method of obtaining money. I know I could never do it.. ugh!

Just to be clear, I'm not writing this in support of her lifestyle choices, I'm just saying that I don't think she took advantage of anyone. Or at least no one who didn't want her to.

what is the wtbts exactly saying here because they don't let you make the truth your own?

besides nicknaming the religion "the truth", this is just another example of how the wtbts brainwash jws to think that the truth and the watchtower are the same thing.

i think this might be why jws, before hearing anything negative about the watchtower, already decide that it is false or they defend it.

THE IMPORTANCE OF HOLDING HANDS!

i started a thread a long hug http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/128891/1.ashx which touches on the below, but feel this subject deserves a thread of its own.. a study, highlighted on bbc breakfast news yesterday, acknowledged the importance of holding hands in a relationship, courting or married.

it was stated that couples who hold hands in the street are more likely to have a solid relationship - and especially those who interlink their fingers when holding hands as this indicates a desire to be as close to each other as possible.

arm linking is ok, too, but couples who just walk about not holding hands - and this includes married couples - indicates the relationship could be in trouble.. do you hold hands with your spouse/partner?

Hubby and I hold hands all the time. When we fall asleep at night if we aren't holding hands our feet are entwined or he has an arm around me, or I him. We are very touchy :)

It's harder to hold hands in public, though, as hubby uses a cane and that throws him off a little, so I usually link my arm through his, lightly, so as to not throw off his balance. We hold hands at the movies and in restaraunts, etc.

We've been together for 6 1/2 years now and we grow closer all the time. By this stage in my relationship with my ex we were so far apart we were strangers. I like this marriage better.

What the Heck is the WTBTS up to!

i received a letter in the mail today from my mother.

my mother who when growing up a jw was considered a trouble maker.

My sister sent me a letter along those same lines. I too was never df'd or anything, just faded out. But she found out about my BF and that was it, cut me off. She very kindly told me she was sorry my dog died (had happened the week before) in the same letter that she said she wanted nothing to do with me.

That was 5 years ago. She eased up some after a bit and then acted like she had never sent the letter and we talk fine now. In fact we are seeing them next week and having dinner at mom's. Mom referred to the time period when we weren't talking the other day. She said she "just hated it when T**** and I weren't getting along" like I had had some choice in the matter.

I'm sorry you are going through this. Give her some time, she will miss you and forget all about it.

My Bethel Experience part 8

" if you wanted a better room you need some seniority, rooms would go up on a bid system.

if you were a new boy, and all your friends were new boys, it could be a year or two before you got a decent room and 10 years to get a room with its own bathroom, pre towers days.

My Ex was a NPG.. at least for most of the time we were married (I think he had an affair, so for a bit he was a PG) I was sooo miserable, so was he.

I think telling gays that they should get married and act "normal" is despicable. No one is happy in a marriage like that.

Elder quits meetings

i received good news from my daughter, it was amazing to her, but she informed me that she met an old friend from a congregations we attended 10 years ago, and the upshot was that the friends partents no longer attended meetings.

he her dad had been an elder the last i talked with him, he had left the congregation we were in due to the attitude of other elders there, went to a new congregation and the last i heard was very happy there.

we had had conversations about various aspects of the supposed truth and he always tried to counsel me about the troooth as spouted by the pharasies then.
