I noticed today when I went to the post office that everyone was smiling and cheerful, lol.. one guy was even singing!! love songs!! in the post office!! lol, it was cute

Spring has definatly sprung!!! My favorite time of the year!

Remembering who we were (Short Story)

recently i had began to have weird dreams, ones i could not ignore and i needed to speak to someone about it.

so i asked one of the elders i respected a lot to make some time to speak to me after the meeting one night.

i knew it would be a conversation that would take awhile, so i told my family to drive in a separate car, which allowed me not to worry about how long they were waiting for me.

It's obvious you live in the US We have beer flavored water instead of the real thing In some countries you can get real beer! with flavor!! and alchohol!!

Actually, some of the micro brews here in the states aren't bad.. but for heavens sake, don't be judging beer based on coors and bud!!!

I like beer you can chew.. a good guiness for example.

I am an Auntie!!!

first baby born to any of my siblings...

woohoo!..

i'm off the hook for providing a grandbaby!!

I plan on always having candy in my pocket... after the baby gets a little bigger, of course A little bribery goes a long way! I'll be his favorite aunt in no time!

My brother faded awhile back, our other two siblings are very much still in.. so I'll be the only ex-jw auntie! This boy can cuss around me all he wants!

Unfortunatly we are concerned about his mother.. she has demonstrated some very unstable behavior and we aren't sure how she'll be with the baby. My brother knows all of this and is watching closely for signs of postpartum depression and for any signs that she would in any way mistreat the baby.

So far her lunacy has been limited to raging at myself and my husband.. and telling lies about us to family and friends. As long as her crazy is aimed at us it's ok, we can handle it. If she turns any of it on the baby... well.. we will help my brother out any way we can!

Who knows, maybe it was all pregnancy related and she'll calm down and be only slightly hostile instead of phsyco!

Sammieswife... the billions spent on pharmaceuticals is why pot isn't federaly legalised for medicinal use. There are way to many "legal" drugs that could be replaced by one inexpensive drug. Pharmaceutical companys would lose sooo much money if pot was made legal. Medicine is a big buisness.. our government caters to big buisnesses..

My husband has used pot for his chronic pain. It is the only thing that has helped.. the narcotics he was getting from his Dr. didn't help a bit. In fact vicodin turned him into an asshole without helping his pain (that was fun) If he gets caught using pot he could lose his va disability income. So he has to choose between that risk and pain relief.

Many countries are researching the benefits of marijuana, maybe if enough studies prove it's benefits the US will pay attention, but it's going to take time, which people who are suffering now don't have.

This study done in CA was discounted by the US gov. as being inconclusive and there is a nonprofit group suing over the comments that were made. I don't remember all the details, sorry.

I'm with Crumpet on this one. If you put it in writing that you no longer agree with JW's then you will be "outed" and announced as "no longer one of JW's" He worded that in such a way as to get you to say you are no longer a JW.. if you say you agree with JW's teachings then he can't talk to you, if you say you don't... then you can be df'd for apostacy.

I would tell him that you are "confused" about this or that.. make it sound like you are unsure.. that way he feels like there is a need to help you, not shun you.

Whatever you do.. do not put it in writing that you no longer agree with what JW's teach!! Unless you don't care about being "outed" and/or df'd.

And that's my two cents

I met my hubby online, so I'd have to say yes, it worked for me

I think the best part was that it allowed us to become friends before we ever met in person. We got to know each other before we started dating. Neither of us was "looking" when we met, though, which might make a difference.

We've been together for 6 1/2 years now and are best friends.

LOL, that's kind of my view on all babies Which is one of the many reasons this is the first baby born in this generation

I got a call from my brother about 8 hours after the fact, otherwise I might not have heard for weeks... it sucks not being on the family grapevine!! I didn't hear that he got married until about 3 weeks after

They haven't named the baby yet, we are waiting impatiently... they had some pretty wierd names on their list... so who knows what they will go with.

I find the whole thing fairly exciting too bad they live so far away..

Undisclosed Revelation Book Changes show "Jehovah" is "The Lamb"

as we all know, in 2006 there were some undisclosed changes to the 1988 revelation climax book.. these scans of page 127 (chapter 20) are identical except for the alteration from "the lamb" to "jehovah".. http://i15.tinypic.com/2qvzgya.jpg.

since this change was not listed in the september 2006 kingdom ministry, are we to conclude that it is not "a key change" and the alteration is merely semantics?

Abandonment

most of the time i'm ok with the problem i'm about to discuss.

it just seems that occasionally it hurts me more than others.. for those of you who's family are all jws: it was hard to leave all of your family behind but for whatever reason, it made you happier to go than to stay.

after you left, did you ever get scared that those in your new life would abaondon you as well?

This is pretty much where I am at. I have minimal contact with family. and no real friends to speak of. The couple people I consider close friends live far away and lead busy lives, we only talk a couple times a year.

Add to that that my hubby is likely to die before me due to his disability, in fact I came home from work once and thought he was dead. Scared the shit out of me. Really made me take stock and figure out some priorities. I realised that I was spending all of my time at a job I didn't like, away from the one person I wanted to spend all my time with. We did some figuring and realised that if we moved to a less expesive place and budgeted, we could live off hubby's disability income. So now I am retired and we spend all of our time together.

I know that being alone again will probably happen someday.. but I did it once and survived.. and next time I won't have the turmoil of figuring out who I am thrown in. I've got that figured out now Facing the fact that it can happen is not easy, but once you accept it, you can face it.
