I think I've mentioned this one before but I read magazines from back to front. I'm also deathly afraid of craneflies(mosquito eaters). I will not go into the garage on the lawn if I know they are there. I also am more afraid of dead bugs the bugs that are alive. Hmmm what else..... Oh! I never ever drink a whole can of soda. I'll take one or two swallows, and thats it. The rest is going in the garbage. I have to make tacos in a certain order... meat, cheese, olives, tomatos, lettuce, and then guac/taco sauce. If it's in any other order then it tastes gross.

Just heard from my mom that my aunt and uncle survived the hurricane. They're are living in a makeshift shelter between thier car and what left of thier house. They are out of food and only have enough water to last another day. All of the aid is being sent to New Orleans and Biloxi, but there is no help yet for the people who are stranded outside the city.

I only drive about 3 miles to work. I suppose if worse came down worse I'd walk to work. At this point, I only put gas in my Jetta once a month so its not killing me financially. I hate to see people driving hummers and SUV's to tote thier kids around, and then complain about the price of gas.
But still I hate paying $2.70 a gallon. I remember when gas was $.89 a gallon.

Who here gives to the homeless?
by JW83 ini'm interested in how many here give to the homeless, or any kind of charity, since that was not a part of the witness experience.
i have to admit that my heart is hard ...

If I see a homeless person on the street, I never give money to them. I do donate bi-monthly to the Tacoma Rescue Mission, a religious organization that provides meals, shelter and rehabilitation to the homeless. I also donate clothing to a local presbyterian church.

Congrats! I'm so jealous. When I was a teenager, I wanted to be a forensic scientist. Too bad I fell for the "this generation will not pass away" crap. I guess its not to late, but I don't think I'd be able to afford university now.

Rape, two witnesses, DNA, and rape kit
by Fatfreek inforgive, please, if this has been asked.
my google wasn't much help.. does the society yet recognize dna, a rape kit, etc., as evidence that could supplant a "second witness" which they have always insisted on?.

I know exactly how you feel. I am still not over the way the elders treated me when I was raped. I am more emotionally damaged by my judicial meeting then by the rape itself. And I can't forgive my parents for contacting the elders in the first place. They called the elders and made sure they were at the hospital with me. One elder had the nerve to give me an awake mag. on rape at the hospital. They all made sure that I was not to be given the morning after pill, even though I really wanted it. Then a couple days later I had my judicial meeting, where I had to describe in detail exactly what happend, so the elders could determinne whether or not it was rape. F*cking sick bastards.
