Heart Like A Wheel (1990).
Does anyone remember this song/video?
i think i was lucky living here in toronto.. we had an incredible fm station called: cfny 102.1. also, across the lake and a bit inland, was buffalo, new york's magic 102.5 (wmjq-fm).. there was a time here / there, where british music was so rampant ... in a good way.. any bands or acts that you recall.. yes you brits; we know while at those silly assemblies, you were in your ford cortinas and vauxhalls, listening to "top of the pops".. i'll admit, i found that show, lame.
over here (canada) we gave little known british bands, ample air time.. toronto-buffalo (1989-1991) was a hotbed of fm activity.. you brits...and other expatriates.
lend us your ears!

i have a question for the ex-jw's on this forum after months of reading the forum..... many say how good it is to be free of the oppressiveness of the jw's that they can now enjoy the freedom to... have sex, celebrate christmas, gamble, embrace politics etc.
there are still biblical scriptures and principles in place that if you still followed the bible would mean you avoid these things and yet these are now embraced as one of the perks of no longer being a jw so in my confusion i ask.... if these are what you want, isn't it more correct to say you no longer follow the bible as apposed to just the jw's?.
But for some of us Reniaa; we DO NOT believe in the bible/scripture/s.
Then there are those that do; which I feel you may be directing your question/query.
Then there are those of us that understand the 'true' meaning or origins of many so-called Christain holidays or celebrations: pagan.
We know this.
The hours tick by; the days go by; the weeks, and yes, even years.
We'll be here - lookin' at your cute emoticon....even as your beautiful hair greys.
today my wife and i left the house at 9 am and had lunch at a restaurant in cannon beach while looking at this view.
we were home by dinner time.. .
Northwestern Oregon: to say the least..."YES" is one of the most gorgeous places I've ever seen.
Canon Beach; Ecola State Park. I was there in June 1994.
I do not have pictures digitally; but I can attest to the beauty and the breath-taking views.
Loved it!
Yes, it does look like the photos previously posted.
Gorgeous!
Seaside and Astoria are lovely; Canon Beach is the bees knees in that area.
okay, i am being s*****d by att without a kiss.
so, has anybody used vonnage or the like?
and how does it work?
I know folks who have had Vonage.
Everyone says: 'your internet/computer' has problems.
GRR!
I find the volume on Vonage, low.
When I call someone with Vonage, it's like the volume is so low....shhhh!
WTF?! or dropped calls, constantly.
My cousin in North Carolina has it, and I've told her it's lame.
I still have BELL Canada. But it's super basic.
I had SKYPE, but it drove me mad, as I hate just being plunked down here while someone looks at me, looking at them while I'd rather be looking at porn; which can be problematic.
I'm sure you understand.
well first off, i am mostly happy being single.
i don't have this big desire to get married again, in fact i am kind of commitment shy now, and don't know how i ever would be able to function in a relationship again.
but there are certain events and certain times of the year when i feel alone and would like a date.
Trust me, no matter your interest.
I am loving my singularity.
It's not until I've once again having to co-habit with anyone, loved or unloved; I wanted to crawl out of my skin.
Even as late as I did it (getting married); I prefer being single 1000 to 1. Or can I up that ratio?
It's nothing new.
I am 46. I don't look my age; who cares!? My body is definitely 46. I can tell the difference from 5 to 10 years ago.
It's not about sex anymore (I LIKE IT...LOVE IT...but it's not like it used to be).
FRIENDSHIPS!!! < that's what I find far more valuable....and yes, on-line porn.
SORRY! I know, 'why did you say that RAYZORBLADE'.
I'm forty-six.
Gimme a break.
JC. 37? Frig, I wish I were that age again.
Amanda. It's not about being the 'wrong person' at the time; it's not like we have more than a few alloted years to figure out who is right/wrong.
We all take a gamble darlin', and it's not that it was wrong; it's just an on-going learning curve.
I'm lovin' being with myself and my lovely beautiful three gals: all of the avian species mind you (BIRDS).
They give me, unconditional love and they also humour me; torment me; give me something to live for when humans (predictably) fail to do so.
JC: just enjoy life. Happiness should NOT be dependant upon others.
Trust me on that one. Really!
i used to love boston legal.
now i think it's utterly ridiculous!
too too wacky for me.. the steve wilkos show is too much of steve screaming at child molesters and wife beaters!
Hell's Kitchen
Punk'd (I saw stuff done there that makes me wonder who/when/where/how someone will get shot).
American Idol. Canadian Idol.
in five hours i head out for kentucky.
this is the kentucky apple festival weekend, otherwise known as "apple day".
this is always the highlight of my year and something i never want to miss, though occasionally i have.. .
Having visited Kentucky, finally, last year October 2007.
It's a gorgeous state. Pretty and pristine in many regions; diverse too.
I've visited the city of Lexington extensively.
I too remember last years (Columbus Day in the U.S.A.): (Thanksgiving in Canada). Yes, it was HOT! I remember that...it was 91F in Detroit, Michigan when we crossed the border. Toronto actually reached 33C/93F. HOT!
Bluegrass.
First off, why do you 'merkins think bluegrass is only down 'thar?
You folks need to get your hinnies up here to southern Ontario. They can pick more blue out of crab grass, if necessary.
There's a huge roots movement here in southern Ontario. Having hosted Kentucky-Tennessee based bluegrass artists in various venues here, the visitors (American) were blown away by the roots-movement; bluegrass if you like.
Awesome stuff, and NO I don't view it as hillbilly music. I respect it as an art.
IF you live in eastern North America (United States and Canada), this music has been in the veins of its inhabitants for centuries.
Great stuff! To see it played in-person; it's brilliant.
The apples. They grow on both sides of the border.
Now the gospel stuff (musically/historically) is pretty impressive. I've seen non-wacky folks from North Carolina, blow me away! More done out of tradition, doesn't mean they're going to start pulling up snakes and have a 'holy roller' breathin' 'hell-fire' sermon. Uh-uh! Not at all.
Enjoy Kentucky JC.
It's a beautiful state with so much diversity.
LOVED IT!
when a jw dies, from results of an accident, disease, or especially, complications resulting from "old age", what do you suppose their last thoughts are?
would they think they have wasted their lives waiting for something which never did and never will come?
or do they really expect to close their eyes and open them in a paradise?
We can make fun.
But I think they're last thoughts would be a mixture of 'glory' and 'grief'.
Depends upon their internal status in the Kingdom Hall.
You can pioneer (past tense; my experience) and be either accepted or asked to do "MORE"!!
I can't imagine what they're 'last thoughts' would be. I think it'd depend upon who was on the higher echilons of congregational pecking order.
I think more sadness (quiet) would rule the day; no one would know any differently, even if they had doubts.
SHHH!!!
i am having a somewhat retrospective evening.. some of you whom have been on here for forever and a day, may recall my living in the philippines back in 1988-1989.. i remember the radio stations eminating out of the greater manila area.
trust me, i haven't heard as good fm in other parts of south east asia as i did in the philippines.. i remember listening to this station from manila: dwnu-fm.
they frequently played australian music.
Thanks folks.
So much stuff, I did not know about.
Thanks for the names; I will make an effort to check some of them out.
Keep adding some good fresh Australian talent.
Heaven knows, we need something unique and non-American for a change.
