Dawn: what an appropriate name.
You've shone light on a topic that had many newbies in perpetual darkness.
Thank you for that post. It's honest, concise and palatable.
Hope all is well with you Dawn.
i have see a few posts on here lately from individuals asking why there there is so much jw bashing on this site.
to you who asked - here's the answer.. when an individual has a traumatic experience this puts an imprint on their sub-conscious and conscous mind (so to speak) - it is a wound and it is painful.
external wounds are healed by covering them and protecting them - however, internal wounds like rejection, fear, etc do not heal by being supressed.

the society has condemned just about everyone to second death, especially those who have been jusged in the past by jehovah [adam, sodom, flood victims, etc.
what do you friends say, does the society have an argument?
are those judged in the past to stay judged and dead?.
Interesting discussion. Many of those scriptures, I had forgotten. If one is using the bible to have a scriptural discussion, good thing to know what you're talking about.
But what gets me, and always did and probably always will:
...that god or whatever supreme creature christians believe in, created this 'Adam & Eve' Perfect to become imperfect...pretty quick.
Seems to me, god is not very good at creating anything perfect, seems doomed to bungling. No warranty with god's creation.
Even the angels, I guess 'he/god' created those right? and this Satan dude, becomes tainted somehow, imperfect....Huh? I give myself a perpetual headache with that one.
IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE to me.
Not to put a wrench in your fan folks, but I struggled with that for eons. It's still important to have these discussions, and for those who believe in the bible etc., well...you have questions and of course, you seek answers.
Those that are either existing Jehovah's Witnesses or others whom are considering, I'm hoping you'll find your scriptural answers here with the very well versed and skilled participants on this forum.
I apologize in advance if I have offended anyone, but I just had to be honest with my 2 cents worth.
Take care.
last week, after jumping through environmental, heritage, waste management, bushfire and god knows how many other hoops, the local shire council finnaly aproved my "development application".
this means i can comence building my 'lord of the rings meets the flintstones" type earthy paradise here in the bush .. so please forgive me if i don't stop smiling for a year or three .
with the da came my new 'rural lands number' (an american system we've recently adopted here which means my #866 indicates i am 8.66 kilometers from the nearest road junction) .
Howdy Uncle Bruce.
OK...(everyone laugh) Rayzorblade when he was a good dub (good?..ah, nevermind), when he could not get anyone at home, he would either leave a note, or take down the address and...get this: write a letter.
I'd witness through a hand written letter. If the weather was lousy, I'd do that, write letters to my NOT AT HOMES.
Well, Uncle Bruce, I think I have a novel idea. I say we call your new place: "THE 866 SAPPHIRE PARADISE" - write your own tract-like thing, but make it look like a resort flyer. You can place all sorts of New System like features, you know, animals that tend to eat each other that don't, and well you know, cut/paste one of those weird assed smiles that you'd see in old WTBTS publications. Lots of teeth (heaven knows I don't have many of those) and that vapid expression so omnipresent in their illustrations. Just don't forget the part about the 'dancing ladies' and the on-site massage parlours. It may look like Bedrock, for some it'll be the yaba-daba-do place to be.
Circulate that around advertising your 144,000 acres of bliss. $19.14 per night (any currency) or $19.75 double occupancy.
Uncle Bruce, I don't know honestly, what to say regarding any attempt to speak/write to this Dub who wrote you that note. One could hope that you could talk to her. Using xjw stealth to hopefully show her some interesting things she may not have ever known, or ever will know. It's not entirely impossible - I mean, how is she to know you are an x-Dub?
Writing her any concerns etc., she may feel intimidated and bring an elder/brother along next time. If she is invited back, then she has 'no idea' what's coming up, so you may get the upper hand and be able to show her some interesting 'truths' the Truth has been holding back from her.
By the way, anyone I ever left a note for or wrote to: never called me nor did they write me back. Wasn't too long after I did that that I exited Dubland.
March 1, Canada can begin to thaw out. This block of ice I use as a pillow is really bothering me. Time to walk the polar bear, be back soon.
hi folks, in a little over a week, i am hosting a memorial.

Sad to say, his birthday, was his funeral.
Given the unexpectency of his passing, it hit us all VERY HARD. He was a very good friend, and I still find it hard to believe he is gone.
Anyways, no worries, I'm OK. But I was wondering with some of you on this forum: have you ever hosted a memorial service for someone? I know that one or two of you have, but I'm just interested in your suggestions or ideas.
I'm not doing this alone, and everyone has been very good. We're holding this memorial at a tavern that has a backroom, where we have plenty of seating, a microphone (for people to speak), food and beverages, and a place for people to tack up photos. It'll probably be a 3-4 hour affair, as people will file in, get comfortable, have a snack, and then the chaplin will officiate things an hour or two into the event.
I'm interested in your feedback.
None of what we are doing is carved in stone or being followed to a T. We want it to be casual, comfortable and easy for people to share their thoughts and feelings towards our late friend, brother, uncle, co-worker and sorely missed wonderful human being.
Thanks in advance.

Hey, I haven't seen that one in awhile, but it's cute. The beer, hey...it's true, there's always room for a couple of beers.
Canucks will agree wholeheartedly.
Hey Monkey, howzit goin'?
Great cartoon, love it.
The last one, however, when I clicked it, said it was unavailable.
Oh well, hoping your keeping well. Looks like that sense of humour of yours is serving you well...great!
visiting a few jw/xjw forums lately, i'm reminded of phrases that have been never been brought to mind for 25 years.
(king of the north, jonadabs, etc, etc.
) i got to thinking again about that infamous old harlot, babylon the great.
Hi Gamaliel, pleased to meet you.
Very interesting analogy you posted. It certainly 'begs the question' doesn't it?
rr: you have a way with words (LOL), loved your reply.
As for the UN scenario: I doubt it'll ever happen. As it is, they are a rather ineffectual bunch it seems.
I believe that Hell, Michigan will freeze over, at least once a year than any of that JW nonsense that they recycle endlessly. (no offense to my Michigan neighbours)
The whore of Babylon may take on a new meaning: some brothel on Long Island, NY. and its inhabitants, no scriptural fulfillment, just personal.
did anyone (guys) catch the sports illustrated swimsuit edition?
zowie!
serena looking very fine and...er...spiritual in her white bikini.
Oh boy, the boys are drooling as I can see.
Hey, don't forget Serena is one mean tennis player, and when she hits those balls, you may want to think twice about approaching her regarding any of her off court antics .
She definitely one gorgeous woman.
OK, so time to go pick up your badminton racket, your lawn darts, and plan your strategies gentlemen.
15-LOVE (takes on an entirely different meaning).
over dinner yesterday in a restaraunt my boyfriend proposed to me.
it was an unexpected moment for me on valentine's day.
didn't know what to expect.
Hey Preston, don't think we've met, but 'wishing you the best' to you and your partner.
TR: gay marraiges - yeah, it is not what I would do personally, but if someone wishes to do so, what the hell...go for it! Most of us have flipped the bird for the WTBTS and put the bible back up on the shelf, so we are not governed by tired old laws and fiction.
Nordic = ?
I would like to think, even if you're not necessarily gay positive, one can 'live and let live'. If it isn't hurting you or affecting you personally, relax.
Yes, Rayzorblade is 'one of those', but even as a JW, I supressed my feelings for a long time, it took me many years to accept others, let alone accept myself. My how times have changed.
Preston: all the best!
I am quite impressed overall at the replies here. Truly outstanding.
the following information is a direct quote taken from the "report" volume i pages 94-100 made back in 1994.. ("the report" written & copyrighted 1994.).
what do "many lands" have to do with this one land, the "land of decoration?
but who is he, that is the "king of the north?
SYN? um...could you pass the cough syrup please? Yes, that'll be fine, thank you. There...better...er for now anyways.
