Yeah! Big Tex. I like your attitude, that's the same way I feel.
cj of the "no I don't want a valium just give me a big bat class"
i just got a phone call from someone i used to know, oh, about 25 years ago.
she and her cousin and i hung out together as single pioneers -- they got married, i got married, we lost touch.
well, turns out she now goes to the same congregation as one of the witnesses who works at my law firm -- the same one who, months ago when i started telling people i was no longer one of jehovah's witnesses, told me i could believe what i want but "don't make trouble for the rest of us" -- and evidently the two ladies got to talking and my co-worker gave her my phone number at home.

Nina, good e-mail but I think I would have made her sweat a little.
That's what get's my temper to rise in the boiling degrees, is that the jw's think that they can do whatever they want if it fits with their theocratic agenda.
I too work in a law firm, we under no circumstances give out phone numbers, cell numbers or addresses of employees or lawyers, to anyone outside of the office. If somebody does request it, we go that person and ask if its okay.
There is a jw that works in my office for a lawyer, not associated with our firm, he rents space in our office, and she works for him. She was a good friend of mine, but we don't talk anymore because of my shunning. But if I ever heard anything that got back to me about what I do in the office, such as enjoying employee birthday cake (I do all the ordering of the birthday cakes and bring them into the office ), christmas parties, etc. I would make sure her a$$ was out the door. She couldn't move fast enough for me to kick it out the door.
Yes Nina you struck a nerve, you are being to kind to this jw co-worker.
Love

as i was growing up in the troof.
there were sayings used over and over again to control my behaviour.
the biblical on bad associations spoil useful habits and another on just because everyone else does it doesnt mean you have to do it to, would you jump off a cliff just because other people do what were the sayings that bugged you?
What are you doing today
"going out door to door" that make's sense
but
"going out in service" service of what! Yeah let's go service our neighbours
i am a little afraid this post will be a dead giveaway to who i am.
i am afraid of lurkers.
anyhow i am dying to get it off my chest and get some advice.
Normally, if it were somebody else in the family she would be the first to spread the news around to anybody especially the elders.
So much like a brain dead dub, they just can't wait to spread the news of somebody else's misery.
jw grapevines spread like wild fire.
Hopefully your niece will be able to break away and live a normal life.
love

just thought i'd give a kindly reminder that jehovah's pretty pissed off with you all.
hope you're all having a great day!
ohhhhh.. I'm scared.

Sandy, I'm glad that your niece has you as an aunt to keep her level headed through this crisis with her mom.
Good for your niece to have a "worldly" boyfriend. Give her lots of support and love. Let her know that there is nothing wrong with what she has done. I only wish I was smart like her to tell my parents at 18 what I would have rather done, but instead I got married to a witness guy, horrible marriage from the start. But at that time it was 1976 and I thought Armageddon was just around the corner.
My sister lives with my mom and my mom would never kick my niece out
And your sister, sounds like she needs to get a life and not live with your mom. Although I don't know anything about your sister, I'm sure there's a long story as to why she is living with your mom. Maybe you can enlighten us on her story later.
last night we had a hell of a storm here.
there was thunder, lightning, pouring rain and wind.
personally i love stormy nights, cuddled up to hubby in a warm bed.
I'd use the not feeling well. I would actually wish for rain. I'd wake up early Saturday morning to peek out the window hoping that it would be raining or snowing.
Also a good one was oops!!! forgot to turn on the alarm to get up early to get out in service or Sunday morning meetings. Those damn alarm clocks that don't do the job.
well, for some reason i was up extra early today, understand i am night person and usually sleep to 11 or so today i was up at 9 and decided to take the dogs out before it got to hot outside.
i hadn't been gone 3 minutes and as i came out of my street onto another i bumped into 2 jw's (females) getting out of their suv.
they asked do you have a couple of minutes.
Congratulations!!!! Priceless is right.
this has been the most amazing week at my house.
yes, i'm tired -- yes, there's been a lot to do -- but .
what a beautiful experience to watch jes & pr!!!
Nina thanks for the update and your thoughts. I'd write more but I'm swamped here at work and I just don't have the time to add my feelings. I truly am happy for them.
But I would like to know:
How did all of this happen between Jes and pr. Sounds interesting. I always like to hear how someone meets and eventually gets married. Do tell the story.
thanks
love
Denise
please, y'all out there..congratulate dansk on becoming a jedi master.. since we've been out (feb 03) this board and all you lovely people on it have been the greatest source of inspiration to both dansk and myself.
you'll never realise how much you have helped us to cope with the whole ordeal.
so reaching his jedi status is a real milestone.. you're all life-savers and you didn't even know it!!!.
Congratulations Dansk. It didn't take you long to achieve the Jedi status.
I'm still working on mine
