How do I help my JW friend?
by stillAwitness inshe's the same age as me; 22 but has the mentality of a 16 year old.
she has been itching to get married the past couple of months b/c in her mind: the only way she will be able to be out of her parents' control is to finally get married to a "fine witness brother".
i told her why not go back to school and while you do that save up money to find your own place?

Take her to Minnesota with a bottle of everclear and don't look back.

My mom guilt tripped me into going to the hall. But lucky for me, I brought my palm pilot along.
Things I have noticed.
New witnesses to the hall looked upon me as though I am a pariah. Old ones love bombed me.
Magazines has gone down in quality.
People sounded brainwashed as ever. God theyre stupid. University of Awake grads abound.
They bragged about people ignoring them at the door. Lots of people I can't stand were there. I'm pulling a Richie.

How closely does your online personality match the REAL you?
by nicolaou ini think i come across as a bit agressive online but in reality i know i'm extremely chilled - lazy some might say.
i'm greek you see and we do so love to argue the toss - loudly and insistently - and then have a game of tavli (backgammon) afterwards.
thing is most of my family are still jw's and as i can't do it with them you guys end up getting both barrels!!.

My offline personality is one of a timid, but pissed off guy that tends to hide his intelligence.
Online, I'm a major womanizer and loudmouth. I won't try to hide it.

Today in Denver--immigrant protests
by Brigid inwell, things promise to get pretty nutty here in denver.
there is going to be a purported 50,000 plus march on the capital so downtown will be effectively shut down.
so far, i've not had any problem whatsoever receiving my goods and services (so far, i've purchased gas, coffee, and taken my car to the shop), so i've not experienced a total shut down of the city, as promised.

They're not immigrants. They're invaders. An immigrant is somebody who comes to another country by permission of the country. They snuck over the border.

Would you fight and possibly die for your country?
by free2beme ini want to put this in the right frame, as what is happening in iraq is not about dying for our countries.
so this is what i mean by this question.. if a foreign government were to suddenly invade your country.
would you be willing to join the arm forces to fight for your country, knowing full well that you may die having never been able to reap the benefits of any possible victory?

I'd like to see Armies (Sic) die out, to see "joining up" become not quite PC. Think about it. Without an army a dictator is just another nutter, hes powerless.
Without an army, a thug is just another lonley, petty person waiting to be taken advantage by some other person that wants powerWhere would Hitler, Idi Amin (sic), Saddam Hussein, Franco, Mussolini, pol pot and Mugabe be without their armies.
Still dictators that would brainwash people. These were evil men. Since we're in a fantasy world, I wish we can get better government services with as much government efficiency as possible, I wish the Watchtower wouldn't lie and I wish Jesus actually did come down to earth to save us. We don't live in a dream world where everybody will magically drop their weapons, dance around a fire and sing "I'd Like To Buy The World A Coke".
Let the politians(Sic) send their sons to war first. Somehow I don't think they'll have much of a stomach for it then. Most politicians' children are over the age of 30, and most likley won't make it into the armed forces.
