WAR in IRAQ: Is this about Religion or Oil???

my mom says that one of the reasons that the wtbts is the true religion (after i told her many things they were wrong about) is that: .

only they told of this "war between governments and religion" and she can see "things coming to a head" in recent years and that this proves so much that this war is just part of the "sign" that the society has always pointed to.

she gives as example also the strong conservative christian leanings of bush and his regime.

I won't parse my words. Both you and your mom drank the koolaid of your respective beliefs.

The war's really about a dictator that played a shell game with the most powerful country in the world at a time it got sneak attacked and the rebuilding that ensued.

Tell your mom wars happen all the time, and how the difference between a war and a fistfight on the street is that a fistfight involves individuals while wars involve societies so there's nothing new under the sun.

And tell yourself "If we let this dictator live, we'd be fighting both Saddam and Osama together instead of separately" because that's what the war was really about, stopping Saddam Hussein and OBL from joining forces.

LOL@Suit and tie. I remember seeing this one girl get baptized in a dress at this one convention. As soon as she got baptized in the dress, her panties came off. It was the most hillarious moment for me when I was 14.

israel, iran and the united states were the countries with the most negative image.. the survey for the british broadcasting corp.'s world service asked more than 28,000 people to rate 12 countries britain, canada, china, france, india, iran, israel, japan, north korea, russia, the united states and venezuela as having a positive or negative influence on the world.. israel was viewed negatively by 56 per cent of respondents and positively by 17 per cent; for iran, the figures were 54 per cent and 18 per cent.

this mornings events have got me thinking about things.

i love peanut butter, not the sweet kind but i like the old fashioned peanut butter, usually laura scudder's with no sugar or preservatives - it just tastes better imo.

i put it on everything including pancakes which are really good with peanut butter and maple syrup.

I live in the Upper Midwest, so anything I eat from the sea and from east asia is considered disgusting.

But here goes: I eat sushi, crab legs, seaweed salads, white rice, green tea, protein drinks, coconut curry and clam chowder. Any upper Midwesterner that lives outside of Madison, Milwaukee, Des Moines or the Twin Cities would gag at the concept of eating those.

it appears there was recently found a major source of oil (1.7 trillion barrels) in calgary, canada.

if you 'google' in 'oil sands, calgary canada) you can read about it.

i heard from a cousin who is going there that they need welders real bad and are offering a $5000.00 signing bonus, plus a wage of $150.00 per hour.. there is probably other job openings there too.

To put it in perspective why you're getting paid that much:

You'll be in a VERY desolate place in Alberta. You won't be in Calgary or Edmonton. You'll be in the pits of Subarctic Canada. To put it in perspective, in Calgary and Edmonton... THERE'S SNOW ON THE GROUND IN MID OCTOBER!!!! You'll be stuck in the coldest climate you've ever felt all for money.

Thank you, but I'll stay in Semi-Arctic Minnesota, thank you.
