They're very paranoid of outside information that criticizes them. Not a good thing when some of that information shows contradictions in theology.

what is interesting is when i did a search on the aljazeera news web site for her name (rania al-baz) absolutly nothing was found.. .

results are sorted by date.. results 0-0 of 0. no document found.

I hope this does highlight the way that women are being treated in that backwards part of the world.
But on a different note, this vaugely is better than JW culture. These women have a right to divorce and remarry on account of spousal abuse, while JW's aren't allowed to do so without getting DF'ed.

my h and i are generally good at avoiding the subject, but the other day we got into a "debate" about the "truth".

anyway, he gave a few reasons why he believes the jws have the "truth" such as the scripture that says "it is better to not have known the truth at all than have known the truth and walked away".

okay, at the time i was too upset to think rationally and say, "okay, which scripture would that be?

My H and I are generally good at avoiding the subject, but the other day we got into a "debate" about the "truth". Anyway, he gave a few reasons why he believes the JWs have the "truth" such as the scripture that says "It is better to not have known the truth at all than have known the truth and walked away".

A few scriptures come to mind that can dispute his claim to the JW's having biblical truth. Matthew 7:1 and Matt. 12:31,32
