Is practicing Capoeira wrong/bad/discouraged by Jehovah's Witnesses?
by aikichristian inmy girlfriend used to be an avid capoeira practicioner for over year.
she has reaped many benefits from it: increased physical fitness, flexibility, some self-defense skills, and stress-relief.
she enjoyed it.. unfortunately, an article came out in the spanish version of the "watchtower" ("atalaya" in spanish) essentially saying that capoeira should not be practiced because it has some spirituality stuff in it that was wrong.

It's discouraged by the Jehovah's Witnesses like how blood transfusions and birthday celebrations are discouraged by JW's. All 3 of those are based on some person that's barely literate in Hebrew and Greek's rendition of the bible trying to tell other people what to do mixed with horrible science and history.
Capoeira is a martial art and or a dance that involves less spiritualism than a bridesmaid dress, which JW's are allowed to own. Depending on what kind of capoeria you practice, it can be a martial art or a form of dance.
But of course, if you show up the Watchtower as being wrong as hell (Which they almost always are) you're told you're running ahead of the organization and they frown on you.
Tell your girlfriend the overwhelming evidence that the JW's are wrong and tell her also "the only reason why you believe the watchtower's veiw on capoeria despite the evidence I showed you is because you want to believe in it so badly that you're willing to doubt hard evidence."
That will either shut her up or have her break up with you as spiritually damaging to her faith. There is no loss in losing somebody trapped in that cult. They're already gone.

The religious hatred on this war is totally one sided. If there was religious hatred of Muslims in this war, you'd see anti-muslim sentiment commonplace in even the most middle of the road Christian churches in the USA. As is, even the extreme ones can differentiate between the Muslim extremists that have taken Islam as their vehicle to cause violence and Islam itself.
In mosques even in the United States there is much Anti-Christian sentiment in the mosques.

Until China liberalizes its economy and stops central planning, it will NEVER be the big boy on the block because to be dominant in an economy, you have to have lazziez faire economics, something China will have a hard time abandonning.
Look at all the biggest economic empires in the history of the world. None of them were centrally planned. And if you site the Soviet Union as an example, there's a reason why it fell within 75 years. Nobody bought Soviet products because nobody felt a reason to go into business because they were taxed into oblivion. In fact, the only reason China's economy is rocking right now is because China is starting to embrace capitalism. China will be the big boy, but not until it fully embraces capitalism.
Oh, and an Amero won't work. You need powerful economies in order to make a multi-national union work. And we already have a de facto Amero. It's called the American dollar.

I believe in the war because:
It was a wise thing to stop 2 rich, muslim men who both hated the united states from uniting together after 9/11, which saddam and osama had intentions of doing.
Iraq should have been cleaned up in 1991 and not 2003, Saddam was a monster we let live just because we wanted Iran and Iraq, 2 nations we didn't ever like in the first place go into a stalemate war instead of having Iran crush them. We let him linger for too long in 91 after he went too far.
The Middle east needs to be cleaned up because it's a breeding ground for dictators.

No, it's not a "theory" because theories are laws and rules in motion. It's more of a "crackpot statement based on long debunked evidence". But in common vernacular, the term for what you brought up is "conspiracy theory".
And if you don't want something being a lib vs conservative discussion, it would be wise not to bring up a liberal talking point.
