Reality check: World less happy about America

a major survey on international opinion released in washington yesterday shows u.s. popularity has plunged across much of the world amid mounting perceptions that the united states is running roughshod over other nations.
the planet's sole superpower commands only tepid affection, just as the u.s. government struggles to win international support for a possible military incursion against iraq as the next stage in its war on terrorism.. in fact, the prospect of a u.s.-led offensive aimed at overthrowing iraqi dictator saddam hussein has become a major irritant between washington and even its closest allies.. .

"britain and france declared war on germany because they had the backing of the US. without promised support from roosevelt churchill wouldn't have dared to declare war. and the french were not eager for the war in the first place.
b) hitler never showed any intention to get involved in a war with the west. his plan was always an expansion to the east. so without lobbies on all sides who wanted the war the damn thing wouldn'T have happened"
Said by realist.
Now we are starting to get somewhere. True colors are begining to bleed through. The Nazi party was a victim of a US conspiracy to start a world war. lol "Mulder, I mean realist, "the truth is out there."
Realist, (about what?) I have a question for you. Can Islamic rule live (rule) in the same nation and allow for personal choice of religon not of Islam, giving it and it's people equal status. Yes or no? This is very important to your argument but you have to answer this for me to go on.
Crazy I know that I do not want to control the world. That is too much responsibility. I would like to see the world get some self control, and, some self accountablity.
Realist do you think that Islamic rule is a kind government to it's people? Do you think that it is fair to women? Do you think that they really understand what it is that they hate about the West? Do you think that they understand the West at all? I mean they still see a bunch of blood thirsty crusaders. I have heard quite far assesments that bad Islamic Governments get US support and I agree. There are no good Isamic governments to support; Better to take them all out.
Crazy all that the West has to do in Africa is step back and do nothing. We could just watch entire nations of people die out. I would hate to go down in history as the generation that did that.
Last realist where are you going with the American Indian wars?

To the US Military
by freedom96 inthere have been many postings regarding the possible war with iraq.
there are many strong apposing views, as to be expected.. i personally am going to thank all those who are in the military; my hat is off to you, and i respect what you do, and i am very thankful.
you are the ones that must go out there and defend our freedoms.. i don't think most people desire war, but sometimes there seems to be little choice.

Why didn't the US finish him off on these grounds while they had a war in progress 10 years ago? Once a war is over, you can't bring up things that happened before that war to justify another war.
Funny I thought that there were condtions to the cease fire which have been broken many times. By Iraq (Like 18 violation) And, yes history is an indicatior for present action. Just because a person Organization, or Political Government tries to dismiss it's past or does not recognize it that does not mean that the rest of us have to be so stupid.
The medical issues and policies should be on a seperate thread but I will say this. America spends something like a billion dollars a year on illegal alien health care. Not on it's citizens but other Countries. (I.e. Mexico) Does it get any of it back? There is welfare. And once again the entitlement babies fail to see that in Government controlled Health care you pay through taxes for healthcare. You get what the government decides you get. You pay what the Government tells you to pay In America you get to choose what you want as a insurance policy. Government meddiling has done much more damage than anything else. The US has the best healthcare system in the world. It is no where near perfect and logical fixes are ignored. But, it is pretty good. One of the biggest gripes that I have is there it is a tax you have to pay, but here if you choose not to have insurance then you are a fool. How many Americans that read this choose to not pay for insurance? What if another 15%-40% of what you make was taken out in taxes because that is what it would mean. I am sooooo against that. I pay for insurance and I have zero compaints to the Gov.

I think that maybe she is jelous that you might succeed and be happy scary....
Here is one revenge..Remember she is most likely going to grow old and shrivel up before you do.
Her dream was your Mom's it was not yours. You are in control of your dreams and if she does not support you she will one day be sorry. Anyways, my thoughts.

Is it Love?

simple question: if a schizophrenic falls in love with one of the people he/she is delusional about is it really love?
more importantly what is the reasoning behind your answer?

Lust for eternal life?
The thing about this life being eternal; I don't think that would be the best thing for me. In fact this life being eternal for me that would be hell. I don't ask for it. If life ends with a great sleep and that is all; Larc, that is all I know. My past and future are now. I have no way to go back or forward. I have faith that with each second another will follow but have no illusion that one day that faith will be shattered when my heart stops. I don't know what will happen after that; but, that is OK. Like when I sleep (Which is not often) I am not afraid that I will not wake up. I see death as the same thing only a little more final. My love in God is the hope that we as humans will one day learn that we have every capacity to create our own way in this life. Idelogy is the illlusion. Faith is the solution. As it is said by anothers quote, "I can keep explaining it but that does not mean I can make you understand it." (Or me)
What if there is not a god, a heaven or a hell. What is this then? I hope that we learn to love as much as we can because nothing else matters. Calling lust love is a way to subjegate people by convincing them that to be loved you have to seek approval of others. Thus the birth of a supermanbeing called god to seek the approval of; to lust after. And then you need men who know this god so to seek their approval. And the marry goes round and round.
Christ kept telling people "You faith has healed you." and "You faith will set you free." That seems pretty clear to me. Maybe the christ is a sham. So what, the theroy is still there, and that changes nothing for me. My faith sets me free. Free to love though kindness, helping and wanting the best for people. It's not a bad way to live.

Donkey,
IMO you are refering to lust and desire not love. True love has to do with helping, kindness, and wanting the best for something or someone, including yourself. Your mental reality and perception is not always relevent. What is normal? (Accept defined by social mores.) Desire; that is something you want and want others often to have for you. It is lust. Love; It is not about lust. You can be obsessed with something and not care about it at all. You can love someone without ever knowing them. We all know lust. But love has to do with a much higher way of living.

Mrs. Shakita,
Thank you for the information. I believe it.
My frustration is there is (was) people here that basicly would demand personal eye account of every person that was killed and proof that it was Sadamed's regime that in fact did these things.
(Now stop and dubthingk)
There is always the possibility that maybe they hooked their own gentials up and electrocuted themselves. If we were not there how could we be sure? Have I been to Iraq (answer self) No I have not. Am I from Iraq. (ANswer SelF) No I am not. Well then how do I know that it is true? I can't, but in America I can be a nerotic critic my government and this pleases the edlers so I am get a good wife.
Truth talk....THEY WILL LOVE US WHEN WE WIN! Until then they will cry and moan because that is what they do. I simply say thank you to the brave men and women that protect me from those who would kill me if they could. And that is not just Americans; That includes Great Britian who is a true friend and has been for some time. And I have no doubt that there will be others again when the time comes. Jehovah Witness belief and attitude is not what I look to for help or protection. Nor liberal minded attitude that feels what goes on OVER THERE is not our concern. It is. The people of the Middle East deserve better than they have had at the hands of their current leaders.
"We have a chance to write the story of our times. a story of courage defeating cruelty and lite overcomming darkness. This calling is worthy of any life." President George W. Bush addressing the Untied Nations on November 10, 2001.
