  i wanted to see how the dubbies were doing on my home patch, so i scrolled down to where i expected to find "united kingdom".

  Dinner last night with our JW friends

  dave and i have a nice friendship with a jw couple from our teen years.

  all of us are now pushing 60 or in the 60's.

  the wife is an old friend of mine from childhood, the daughter of a very well known elder in our area who passed away a few years ago, and her husband is a man we all met in our late teens, when he was studying.

  Truth about JW Anointing - Part 3 of 3

  this deals with two aspects, that of life as a jw anointed, and then as an ex-jw:

  first: i began associating in the late 1960s and was baptized in 1970. i believed i had the heavenly calling almost from the beginning of my jw life ... but like most newbies, i refrained from partaking due to the jw culture created by the society.

  when i chose to first take the emblems, i was serving as an ms in richland, washington.

  You say: In accepting all this mean............But, before I can ever again trust God, or serve god, or agree to have a relationship with god.........he/she/it must demonstrate to me that there was a reason behind human suffering.........and god must be held accountable..........and that I too will have terms to be met in any relationship with he/she/it.

  I believe the reason behind human suffering falls clearly on the laps of human beings.

  Why should the god be held accountable and not mankind responsible for choice & reason or the lack of?

  Why should your terms or anyone elses be met inorder to accept a relationship? In any given relationship be it parent/child, husband/wife, friend, love can be of offered but not always returned in kind. Isn't it about the act of giving finding happiness/pleasure in the gesture?

  many here don't believe in god anymore so can't believe in any resurrection.

  so what do you expect once you die?.

  and if you believe that there is nothing after this life, are you working overtime in this life to get the most out of it because there is nothing after...

  I talked to my daughter today

  as many of you may be aware, i am disfellowshipped and live in the same city as my daughter...we work a block away from each other in downtown vancouver.

  occasionally, i drop flowers off at the reception desk for her, with my home card, my business card, etc.

  well, today was the day when i decided to take it a step further.

  it seems that the anti cult world is extremely concerned at the moment about a group called "project portal" in brazil.

  apparently there are hundreds of members and extensive defections are taking place at the moment, and the group leader, one urandir olivera, is being 'persecuted'extensively by the media.

  cult watchers are drawing parallels with jonestown in that they fear olivera may lead his loyal followers in a collective 'beaming up'.

  Fashion Fluff....Questions for the Ladies....

  since it is friday and i am in a fluffy mood..... fingernails....long/short; painted, bare?

  french manicure or nothing?

  i had my nails *done* a few months ago and there was a man there getting a full set of acrylic nails.

  Finger nails/ natural long I use "ORLY nail defense" I apply underneath the nails prevents them from splitting or chipping away its a great product. I prefer french manicures or red nail polish only on special occasions. Pedicures/ during the spring and summer seasons colors of choice on my toes blues or purples, toe rings, anklets everything ornamental I'd wear bells on my feet just for the sound effects.

  Pantyhose????? hardly, great for tying up lumber or recyclable newspapers.
