  when i was in nyc in spiring of 1999 (there on biz) i asked a bethelite friend who was the biggest pain to the wts and he said randy watters and his bethel ministries.

  i flew home to oregon and i read everything on randy at www.freeminds.org (watchers of the watchtower world).

  truly a life saver for me and my family!

  Help me with prayer please

  for those of you who still pray, regularly or not.

  i would ask some advice.. as a dub when i would pray at meetings or for my family i had no problem finding many things to discuss with god.

  you know the usual things like my family, kh, gb, meetings, personal study, the friends around the world being persecuted, new system, meeting attendance again, field service, etc.. now that i'm fading i will not pray about the majority of those things any longer.

  I like to put on some Christian music and just worship God for a while before praying. Sometimes I will just sit and ask Him what does He have to say to me today (this is very hard - we have been trained all our lives to be proactive, so it takes practice to be able to sit and contemplate God without actively praying.) It also takes practice to learn to discern the voice of God. For me, most of the time He speaks to me in impressions in my spirit. Sometimes he gives me pictures and, on rare occasions, dreams. It works differently for different people.

  There is a small book called "Speak the Word Over Your Family for Salvation" by Harry & Cheryl Salem. It takes Scriptures and leaves blanks so that you can insert the name of the person(s) you are praying for into the Scripture. This is very effective as we are telling God that we understand His promise and we are looking to Him to fulfill these promises in the people we are praying for. It is published by Harrison House, Inc., P.O. Box 35035, Tulsa, OK 74153

  Do "born-again christians"believe that the Pope went to heaven or hell?

  i ask this question because i know alot of "born-agains"that do not like roman catholics and feel that they worship mary and will not make it to heaven.

  my friend that is a devout catholic has told me many horror stories of christians sending pamphlets to catholic churches telling them that they will burn in hell.

  i was igronant of the anti-catholic hatred that is taught in many born-again christian churches.

  Good to see so many of the posters that I have known and loved are still on the board.

  Personally I, as a "born again" (whatever that is) have been mourning the death of the Pope. I think he was a good man and I certainly hope he is in heaven. He definitely influenced the world for good. I fear for him because he gave so much honor to Mary rather than Jesus, though.

  some lurkers suddenly have bouts of righteous indignation and become trolls that lash out at some of the subject matter posted here by x-jw's.

  they accuse many of "leaving jehovah" for fleshly desires.

  my boyfriend (feels more like fiance though i guess as we've talked about but just need the ring) and i have been together over two yrs and living together for over a yr. he never was a jw, and professes to be no religon and isn't even sure god exsists.

  Hubby never was a JW. I joined was sucked in after being married only 2 1/2 yrs. He put up with me and the bullsh*t for 25 long years. Fortunately he was still there when I came to my senses, and we have been blissfully happy for the past 10 yrs!

  Re: Jobs overseas aka "outsourcing"

  The Heinz company, which is the source of Ms. Heinz-Kerry's fortune - through inheritance, not by any of her abilities (except the ability to marry and outlive her previous husband), outsources most of its jobs.

  I don't know the numbers for sure, but there are something like 52 Heinz factories, and only 3 or 4 are here in the good old USA, all the rest are in foreign countries.

  IMHO Mr. Kerry should start at home and have Ms. Heinz-Kerry use her influence to return those factories and jobs to this country.

  Mr. Kerry can't make up his mind and stick with any one policy: "I voted for the $87,000,000. before I voted against it." Not to mention that the Dems, including John Kerry, are masters at the ad hominem attack. If they don't have a valid argument in response, they attack the messinger, or questioner as the case may be. When Kerry claimed that foreign leaders (implied: heads of state) supported him over Bush and was asked which countries/leaders he had spoken with, Kerry attacked - Are you a Republican??!! Answer me! Did you vote for Bush in the last election??!! instead of answering the question. If that were true (and I don't think it is) I would want to know which countries backed him over Bush because I want to know who he owes favors to. If it were Vladimir Putin and Fidel Castro, or the French and Germans - we would know where his loyalties lie. But the fact that he REFUSED to answer the question and ATTACKED the questioner, tells me he is a liar in the manner of Al Gore, who, we all know, invented the internet, after all, he told us he did.

  I will respect the office if he is elected, but since I do vote, I am entitled to criticize him.

  I recently got tired of seeing the gray in my hair and decided to color it. According to the box it's supposed to be a medium brown - well it came out reddish brown and just keeps getting lighter and lighter and lighter RED.

  Oh well, I always wanted to be a redhead.
