What do I think of "Jehovah's Organization"? Jehovah left the building a long, long time ago.

What Do You Think About "Jehovah's" Organization?
by minimus inas witnesses, you are constantly bombarded with the expression,"jehovah's organization".... if we don't believe in jehovah's organization, we are doomed.
we must put faith in jehovah's organization.
jehovah's organization is the modern day "ark of survival"........these types of expressions have been drilled in the heads of jehovah's witnesses for decades.

Article in the Awake about us "Apostate Fighters"
by LuckyLucy intoday i was at work and a jw slipped a watchtower and awake in the mail slot.in the awake there is an article titled "is there an unforgivable sin?
" here is a paragraph that caught my eye.. some people who were once faithful christians have purposely drawn away from god, perhaps because of bitterness, pride, or greed, and are now "apostate fighters" against god's spirit.they willfully oppose what the spirit is clearly accomplishing.
have these induividuals committed the unforgiveable sin?

The WTS loves to throw up smoke screens to hide their true nature. The unforgiveable sin should be the one that is committed when the person doing so knows that it is a sin. Their Bible says that there is no forgiveness left for it.
I'd class child molestation, abuse and shunning among the unforgiveable sins.

Do you think JW men treat women worst than 'other' men in power?
by BLISSISIGNORANCE ini ask this question because we often hear about jw men (bros., elders, servants, co's etc.
) treating sisters as lower and weaker beings than themselves.. but i wonder if it's not just a male-dominant world problem.
i didn't grow up as a jw so every male i met for 30 years was not a jw.

Some, not all, of the men can be abusive and overbearing. They take as their mandate that wives should be in subjection to their husbands and milk that for all its worth.
There is an elder in the local cong who is verbally abusive to his wife and child. She is so cowed and downcast that I wonder if it becomes physical abuse behind closed doors. She doesn't socialize with the other women and won't engage in conversation beyond the initial niceties. I truly feel so sorry for her but she is afraid or constrained from reaching out to anyone.

Breakdancing is from the Devil
by Huxley insome youngsters (i always hated that word...) in our congregation went to a rock concert.
two out of ten of these kids decided to join in the "mosh pit", and try their hand at "crowd surfing", just like on mtv.
well the other eight kids decided to rat them out to the elders for behaving in a worldly manner.. the local needs talk the following week discussed the danger of music in the life of a young christian.

Got a kick out of everyones comments on this thread....the WTS must know how fragile the belief system is if the Twist can take a person out of the ' troof '.

Blessings or our Imagination
by JH inas a jw, we were always told that god was blessing us, because we were doing his will.
jw's saw god's hand everywhere in our lives.
if we had good news, a good job, good health, it was because god was blessing us.

Yes, I remember how some would go on about the blessing of having a greater share in the service, being called upon to participate at an assembly, carrying a microphone. Nevertheless, they all seemed so sad and burdened down that I think the word blessing was terribly abused.
Its a real blessing now to be able to think for myself and do some of the things I've always wanted to do before its too late to enjoy them.

The only one I can remember was the story about albumin in food being made from blood. Always figured this for a crock as it would be easier and cheaper to get it from eggs....

Do You Still Not Do Things That A JW Wouldn't Do?
by minimus inwill you now say when someone sneezes ," bless you!!!"?
or do you feel weird about it?
would you give blood or be uncomfortable, still?
-
Warrigal
I do most anything that isn't illegal, immoral or fattening....the standards I use today. Have been voting for the past 2 years and always say 'bless you' when someone sneezes.
Quit smoking in ' 86 and have no desire to return to the habit...either ciggies or drugs. Sometimes have a beer or glass of wine, but not when I'm driving.
I guess I live by the standards that are right for me and not those dictated by a quasi-religious organization.

Has The "TRUTH" Made You Cry?
by minimus inbecause jehovah's witnesses are considered the "happiest people on earth", you would think that jehovah's witnesses would be, as a group, happy.
very few witnesses that i know are genuinely happy.
most are either depressed or feeling that they are inadequate.
-
Warrigal
The only 'happy' witnesses I know are the ones on antidepressants. The others are walking around with a glum, somber, serious look on their faces and look like a visit to hell would be more fun....or even a root canal. One sister, an elders wife, used to come into the Kingdom Hall with such a scowl on her face that changed only when her husband poked her in the ribs and she pasted on a sickly smile.
Its so sad that those who expect to live in the New World can't get a little bit happy now.

*FLUFF* What stickers.......???????
by pr_capone inmany people who drive have stickers riddled all over their cars.
something familiar among the younger crowd is to have stickers of the aftermarket products that they have used (or claimed to be using) in their cars.
parents with smart kids have "my son/daughter are on the honor role" while parents of dumb children have "my kid beat up your honor student".
