  i have been reading about dinosaurs and other contemporaneous animals and have repeatedly encountered examples of physical malformation (diseased or deformed bone and teeth)and evidence of bone cancer over 100 million years ago.

  does this not refute the position held by jws that disease resulted from adam's sin?

  Prior to the flood of Noah's day man lived for hundreds of years according to the Bible. Is it possible that when the firmament came down during the flood that the lifespan of man and beast was shortened? Did the firmament come down because it could no longer be supported above the earth and not because God chose that time to kill off humanity?

  Does the Bible's story of the flood really explain a natural occurence and cloak it in God's wrath? Would a flood have occurred even if mankind had repented?

  LOL @ fraidycat!

  I'd have to first define the physical as pertaining to the human body. The need for food, sleep, shelter, movement and the application of physical laws such as gravity would apply to the physical body.

  Love, joy, comfort, peace, appreciation, faith and expectation I would class as spiritual aspects. I know I've left some stuff out, but thats whats on the top of my head today.

  i'm prompted to ask this question as i ponder the troubling picture found on page 260 of my wife's isaiah volume two book.

  as farkel noted in a previous thread related to this illustration, there's nothing inadvertant about anything depicted in their literature; illustrations such as these are calculated and group-approved for the imagery and message they convey.

  as those of you with access to the book in question are aware, staring back at the reader are four cadaverous faces of recognizable members of the governing body surmounting an array of smaller portraits of a non-descript multi-ethnic and varied age assemblage of ``other sheep.".

  I think the last wiggle on that topic was that humans are composed of a physical body and animated by the spirit (the breath of life). Upon death one's spirit is in God's memory while the physical body is in the grave. Haven't heard if they've changed this interpretation yet.

  I fixed my car's A/C :-D

  i normally don't work on my car because it usually ends up worst off than when i began to "fix" it.

  i brought my car to several places and was turned away every time because they had too much to do already or because they were about to close for easter.

  i was desperate... the texas heat is just too much for me to handle.... walla!

  Thanks Elsewhere! I appreciate your reference to the Yahoo repair page. Hadn't thought of going there.

  Its getting warm here and I'm running the a/c all the time during the day so overheating isn't a problem. Will get Ole Stinkerbelle into the shop for a new fan switch. Thanks again!

  I've had a few calls from the elders during this 'round up the inactive ones' campaign. I've asked them repeatedly to phone before coming over but its fallen on deaf ears. Therefore I'm not going to answer the door when they come next time....do you think they'll get the picture?

  Scully's Saturday Shenanigans - Now With Pics!

  the day started innocently enough.

  i had to rush through my morning workout so that mr. scully could go to work.

  when i returned from the gym, i picked up my daughters and headed out to do some errands, since the stores had been closed yesterday for good friday, and would also be closed tomorrow, easter sunday.. .

  you know, there is nothing like the pleasure of looking on your bookshelf and seeing all those dub books in their hard bound covers and their pretty colours.

  you can arrange them all kinds of ways, putting all the yellow ones together and the blue ones together .then you can put the green graded ones in the middle creating a flowing rainbow effect.

  looks nice.

  Now all you need is that nifty can of leak detector and a special light to find the spot where all your freon is running out. I'm still trying to figure out why my vehicle overheats in the winter and stays within normal temperature range when I run the a/c. Gotta be the fan switch????

  i just found out my mail lady [the one that stays in the post office] is a dubber.

  i live in a very small town and she drives to work from petoskey a town that is 30 miles away.

  i had heard that she was a dubber and i have been putting up silent lamb poster on the bullitin board.

  Watchtower says JW meetings follow the 1st century model

  modern dub meetings follow the format of the first century christian meetings, or is that vice versa?

  subliminal messages reinforce the message found in the watchtower of november 15, 2002. page six shows a picture of st paul's basilica in rome with the message that this is not the place for "spiritual refreshment".

  the facing page (p7) shows an illustration of what is purported to be a meeting of first century christians.

  I think the early christians gathered together socially....something the modern day JWs are afraid to do for fear of 'losing self control'.

  Early christians also met to hear letters from the apostles read to their congregations. It didn't happen 5 times a week. Just when something important needed to be said.

  Gawd! I wish they'd go back to the days of the first century christians. Then maybe the dubs could enjoy life and put a real smile on their pasty faces.
