  Thanks for the reply. The other reply that I refer to in my message was much longer and detailed. However , it did include the information that you mention. It appears that the scholars in the world are not in sync with the beliefs and doctrine of Christian churches(or vice versa). Of course it goes without saying that the more recognized scholars do not even address JW as a bonafide belief system. Some of the things that these scholars are saying would knock the socks of most religious people.

  Perhaps the person who wrote the message I read and lost will come forward or the search feature will be available soon.

  in the Money

  i have read the posts on the so called wealth of the jw organization.

  where is the proof that they have all this money in the banks, somewhere.. with all the people leaving the org i can only assume that more concrete information would be available from people that have actually worked in the accounting department and would furnish this to the fbi.

  where is this concrete information.

  I have read the posts on the so called wealth of the JW organization. Where is the proof that they have all this money in the banks, somewhere.

  With all the people leaving the org I can only assume that more concrete information would be available from people that have actually worked in the accounting department and would furnish this to the FBI. Where is this concrete information. Foaming at the mouth as indicated in the posts so far will achieve nothing. Does anyone have the facts Maam, only the facts.

I then posted another message explaining this delema. Then the format of this web changed and I lost the location of this information.

  Would the person that answered my question so well mind sending that information again to me at [email protected]. I would appreciate it.

  Did you know: some states will force blood transfusions on your child

  one of my children is facing surgery, and when we went in for pre-op discussions and tests, we met with the anesthesiologist's assistant.

  of course, we told her we were jws, and noted that on the questionaire form, but she was quick to inform me that in my state, blood transfusions can be administered to minor children in spite of the parent's objections, even if they are jws.

  state law precedent has been set in this matter, and they will get a court order if needed.. .

  Kokomo is in Indiana as it says in the song is it?

  Is there a source where we can find out which states have such laws. If my daughter who is a JW were to get in an accident and arrive unconcience and her husband is not present couls I sign for her and allow the transfusion?

  By the way, you seem to be a JW at the present. I thought the governing body does not permit you associating with people like us on such a web site.

  Comments?Elders Visit Again

  about 2/3 weeks ago the elders came to visit.

  got rid of them pretty much didn't expect to see them again because i told them i was moving in a couple of months.i didn't plan on talking too much to them as i was studying for a test.

  anyway it ended up being a long visit.

  okay for those of us that actually watched the final episode last night (and are willing to admit it): what would you have done if you were the girl and he told you he had "chosen" you.......but then you found out that he lied and didn't have any $$$......would you still wanna see him?.

  Bible Study?

  what does a "bible study" from the jws teach?

  i've been offered one, is it a good idea to accept?

  they tell me that they will just show me what they believe and why the believe that, that's it.

  I have tried to get some information out of JW people with little success. One question that seems to steimy them is "who was the person that modified the Bible to come up with their version?" Also "what are the credentials of those individuals?"

  As in all Bible studies, it isn't a "study". It is an endoctrination into an interpretation of the religious organization you are "studying" with. If you question them too much with apprpriate questiong, you will be kicked out of the study. Undesirable?

  If the Words of the Bible are the words of God written by inspired people, then the only person that can and should interpret those words must also be inspired. I know of no living soul on earth that is so endowed including Seventh day Adventists, Jehovah's Witnesses or the Pope.

  i was raised jehovah witness.

  i am not practicing at the moment!.

  it's been over 15 years, that i don't attend the kingdom hall.. i have been married with a man that is a practicing seventh day adventist, and as everyone knows the conflicts in our beliefs are tremendous.. i don't agree with his beliefs and visa versa!.

  Sweeheart, you are looking in the wrong places. All the Christians of the world keep relying on a book that is perported to be the voice of God and written by people that were supposedly inspired by God. How you and others can rely on a book that is full of mistakes and say it is the word of God.

  Get real. God does not help people on earth. You are here by yourself and must rely on your soul that is within you. Your task is to find it, and once found you will be free.

  Why is the Bible wrong?

  this week i got into two interesting conversations that i will admit that i was ill prepared for.

  one was with a jw friend of mine who wanted to know why i thought jw's were wrong.

  In this year 2003 it is hard to believe that the Bible has been written without error. To date there has never been found an original manuscript of the Bible.All everyone has ever had are translations of translations of translations and copies of copies of copies.Before the invention of the printing press in the 15th century, no two translations were ever alike. THe production of books, or translations was exceedingly slow ans erroneous. Translators made many mistakes.

  To have an infallible Bible, the oral tradition would have had to be passed down "infallibly" after having been "infallibly" started followed by thousands of infallible translators and thousands of "infallible" interpreters or "infallible" readers to "infallible" interpreter etc.

  Then we can consider the various hundreds of Bibles available today you may ask which one is the infallible one assuming you can read infallibly.

  You can spend your entire life reading all the documentation there is in the world in search of "THE" religion and you will be more confused than before you started.

  If you make it simple and choose any run of the mill religion, remove the doctrine they epose and live your life by what you have left you will do ok. If you think God is going to help you if you pray to him you are living an illusion. You and you alone can control your destiny by seeking out your own soul that is present in all of us. Once you have found it you will be the happier for it.
