despite everything, i still have a lingering admiration toward those who serve or have served in bethel.

it is not that i believe it is gods organization in any way, shape, or form.

After all those sales of their properties one would think they certainly have the money to pay them some sort of settlement!!! Oh well, they will be held accountable for their actions one day.

But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

i saw a fight break out on the platform between an elder and a unbelieving husband who accused the elder of f---ing his wife.

he then threw the lectern on the floor and pushed the elder.

it was cool.......

When I was still disfellowshipped and trying to come back in, i was at the meeting and my 10 day old baby did the biggest fart you ever heard, seriously it was like an adult man fart. People turned around in disgust to look at me and I was killing myself laughing and trying express it wasnt me, but my son.

Disassociating

I recall reading in one of the society's publications (I can't find where) that if you went to another church or celebrated a "pagan" holiday or joined an organization that went contrary to JW beliefs than you disassociate yourself by your actions. I've been working up the courage to go to another church even just once, just to disassociate myself from the JW church to my own mind.

Going door to door in extreme weather

this morning as i got up, it was 0 f outside.

this morning at 9 o'clock as usual the same witnesses will go door to door at this temperature.

i already saw them going door to door at -25 f. i wonder what it would take for them to say it is too cold or too hot to go out in the field service?

the math problem has a correct answer.

getting close to the correct answer is simply called being wrong.. music, on the other hand, can have a wide range of expression not easily judged to be "wrong".

Cain's gift was unacceptable because of his bad attitude(or so the WBTS taught me). I think God accepts our worship/gifts if we give them to Him with a good, genuine and loving heart, regardless of what we believe. It's our thoughts and heart condition that matters. Regardless of how we play the piano. :)

i have to admit i never really thought about this question until one of my classmates challenged me with this very question.

she made an excellant point and i have to admit i am asking myself the same question does jehovah enjoy watching people suffer.

the case she brought up was the flood story.

School for Congregation Elders

i attended the school late last year, and it was an emotional and mental rollercoaster for me.

i was already divided in my heart to say the least.

one of the instructors stayed in my home for the week, and my family genuinely enjoyed his company.

So if we were back in the Israelite day God would never accept it if we did not obey, follow or tolerate disobedient Israel, because they were his earthly representatives?

Lurkers - Not even a 5 min visit from Elder or Sister

been oooh, 4 months now, nothing, nada, zip, like i never even existed.. no one knows i am awakened, etc... so as far as they concerned i'm still in wt land.. starting missing meetings as i was ill with a virus, knocked me out physically.

the rest is history, as they say.. .

so much for the love that is preached.

My old staunch JW grandma is always complaining that none of the JWs come to visit her when she hasn't been to the meetings for months. I pointed out to her that the only ones showing her constant genuine Love are her df daughter and her inactive granddaughter (me) and all her other family who aren't in the truth. Her JW son and his wife treat Grandma like she's a df person. They shun her.

I moved far away to get away from the constant pressures of why i wasnt at meetings. Thankfully I have big wooden gates that I can lock at my new place. The elders know I'm here. Ive seen JWs knocking on my gates then sitting in their cars for several minutes when I don't answer. I had to go get my grandma at the assembly last weekend as she was having chest pains. It was the most nerve wracking thing ever having to walk into that hall full of JW.

I'm the happiest I've ever been far away from all the JW rubbish. That's what matters.

my jw friend of 20 years, the first one i ever met, the one who got me into jwism in the first place, unfriended me from facebook without explanation.

other jws who have unfriended me at least called me names (apostate) and told me they were unfriending me, but they were no loss.

but someone who's been your friend since you were 13...and no explanation...i'd think 20 years- 20 years!

Sorry to hear that!! I got reinstated 3 and a half years ago (the humiliating process of which was a real eye opener to me!! Have faded out now though, stay this way because I have too many important family members in the JW) and even after I was reinstated I had a friend who was closer than a sister who couldn't forgive me for ever leaving in the first place. She still treats me like a disfellowshipped peron.

Tech49 on HOURS, TIME, and REPORTS

i thought i would share some of my observations on counting field service time, reports, etc.

and how those reports are viewed, to those that are still so fixated on numbers.. i served as secretary on the service committee for many years, and have seen it all!.

i was really disheartened when wt changed the requirement for aux pioneering to allow for 30 hrs, instead of the 50 it has been for so long.

I hated putting a report in. That was one of the many things that unsettled me and led me to find TTATT. It always made me feel inadequate and undeserving to be God's servant. And I was convinced I shouldn't have to feel like that. God is loving, not pressuring. Make my yoke light, not burdensome. Reporting is burdensome. In my old cong the secretary (a sister because the congregation was so small) used to put 2hrs and 2rv every month for me (for reading bible stories to my two children) without even tellin me.
