Fed up with the way JWs treat those who can no longer believe
by hotspur inmy favourite uncle died about two years ago (non-witness) and my mother couldn't tell me .
earlier today i went round to the cathedral square of the city where i work for some lunch and i had the misfortune to sit near to an ol'boy witnessing to some people who were too polite to respond.
he kept going on about truth.

by 3rdgen ini was just remembering some jw's i was especially fond of who left the borg when i was active.
in my sincere dubbiness, i called or went to see them to beg them to reconsider because i loved them so much.
(i didn't want them to become bird food) i literally cried for them.

My ex husband and I did this with quite a few of our friends in the organization. We loved them and really meant well. I do hear you, though. I didn't get phone calls nor visits during my absence.

Prime, if you've watched the video made by Stephanie in response to the talk you will then understand why any exJW would be offended. I do believe it is possible to understand another person's point of view and be empathetic. You should try it some time.

last friday i got a message on my classmates account from alice, a jw girl i hadn't seen in over 40 years.
i checked her profile and in her current photo she is wearing a native american necklace and earrings with tribal or religious symbols.

Haha. Typical jdub style. My ex husband only deals with me bc we have kids, but believe me, his attitude is much like your friend's-- to judge others while professing holiness for himself! I also have another friend who is very much inactive, with a worldly girfriend and a job that no witness would take for sake of the meetings, his fb page is all about his" worldly" life but still proclaims WT is the truth and is able to have association with other witnesses bc he's not disfellowshipped! I guess you can't escape the organization. (And i guess I'm hating on faders, mostly bc i wasn't given the chance to fade)

Bible printing, a loss of money for the WTS
by oppostate inso i brought this up in another thread... but i think it needs its own discussion.. having had one of the new grey leatherette and silver edged bibles with the new appendixes in my hand.
i immediately thought of all the custom covered nwt bibles you see some publishers sporting at meetings.
also the fact that the co's and wives who'd been given one had to turn it back in seemed very off-putting.. .

I've seen the new Bible. An elder in my KH has one and brings it up to the platform all the time. I always disliked it when elders or others would show off their connection to someone in Bethel by prominently using their fancy Bible. I had the red one, my favorite. Geez, I hated that new one with the plastic think cover.looked so freaking cheap. I judt stuck to my old black bible or my red one. That thin one is just plain trash, an embarrassment for a Bible Society, smh
