You hear what ypu want to hear at Jw meetings. There's no understanding what's being said, so you have to make something up or glean from the top if possible. These jws arr doing just that. And their interpretation/ understanding is excellent! Theyre saying no more $$$ to WT! LOL

CCould you ask for past donations back, especially if ypu kept track, if the extra funds are going to end up not at your local hall but at WT HQ? I wonder...

Hi FW!
I really enjoy reading all of your posts about your interactions with jws-- both about these sisters and your family. I just wonder, why do you sit down with them and listen to their BS?
I ask, not as a form of criticism, but really bc I want to understand what you are learning and getting from these interactions with these jw ladies.
For example, I recently had a long emotional conversation with my ex. He did most of the talking, but I let him go off on me for a reason-- I wanted to dissect his perspective and his reasoning . Not bc I believe him, but bc he uses certain tactics when he speaks to me , and I want to be able to identify them n future conversations with other people.

how long before you felt refreshed and new?
by losingit inwaking up from jw-land is an extremely exhausting process.
about 3 years ago, i attended a month-long institute for grad school students.
during this time, i was surrounded by people from all over the united states and had active, deep conversations with so many about personal topics, such as religion and divorce.

Phaedra-- i also appreciated what you wrote, sharing your experience. To have a sneak peek at what's up ahead to have some sort of clue about what's coming next and then to be able to plan for it. Some ppl are so privileged and blessed , they have no idea! I'm happy with what I have-- I'm just seeking more security.

SophieG-- wow! I love what you shared! Yes, I'm slowly coming out of it and I know that I'll see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's a process, definitely, I'm just so tired. The more I hear of other people's experiences and how they came out of depression, the better I feel about what's up ahead. This is tge first time in my life where I have no idea what's going to happen next. I have no plan for the future at all. So besides feeling tired, I'm also scared.
BOTR--I've got my appointment set for Tuesday.I'm definitely going. No worries there. I have to get myself together.

The reason the Society keeps everyone busy with "campaigns"
by stuckinarut2 inim sure that many have had an experience where we try and keep little kids "occupied" while on a boring trip, such as a car ride or plane flight.. we come up with "games" like..."lets see how many green cars we can count", or "lets try and see who can sit still for the longest time".
"the winner gets a prize!".
obviously, until they are wise enough to cotton on, all we are doing is keeping them occupied to prevent them asking things like "are we there yet?!".

Campaigns sound important . It provides them with a false idea that their work actually means something to the outside world. Tell anyone that you worked in a campaign and the impression is you participated in something that matters.

OTWO-- you made a commitment to therapy and that helped you. I appreciate hearing your story. I need to make a similar commitment for my own health. Ive got one scheduled already for next week. I am aware it'll be some time before I feel on top of my game. Reading your timeline helps me to see the long haul.
You mentioned alcohol... I was drinking heavily for a while to handle stress and to feel relaxed. Thank God my tolerance absolutely sucks. I kept getting sick from it and had to stop. It's been 4-5 months now since my last bottle of wine. I'm a big cheapskate too, and I hated seeing the little $$$ I had go to garbage. Plus. I didn't like feeling useless the next day. Getting drunk and the hangover afterwards is too impractical.
The last two nights I've been watching stand up comedy on Netflix and YouTube. Bill Maher, Louis CK, Mr. Fluffy Gabriel Iglesias. I loveGeorge Carlin but he's more about truth telling than silliness, which is what I want right now. The LOLcats was funny. Maybe Frozen again? Haha
Any other stand up comedians out there that ppl enjoy?
