Good morning folks. Refreshing to see your experiences. I hope more brothers would go beyond or see through the official WT stand vs. DF'd and apply the fruits of the holy spirit (Gal. 5:22, 23) whenever possible. :)

Smiling at a Disfellowshipped JW instead of Completely Ignoring him
by ProfCNJ ini was driving our car going to our assigned territory for our sunday field minsitry (was with jw 2 sisters) when i saw a disfellowshipped jw riding his motorcycle heading towards us.
the guy was df'd around 2 months ago only (won't delve much on his case).
approximately about 10 meters, we saw him smile.

The guy was DF'd around 2 months ago only (won't delve much on his case). Approximately about 10 meters, we saw him smile. Instead of frowning upon him or ignoring him completely as if we saw no one in front of us, a couple of us smiled at him too. Afterwards, I personally felt good (instead of feeling guilty) that I remembered Christ's teachings about love - loving your neighbor as yourself and the principle of Good Samaritan.
Has anyone experienced similar encounter that instead of shunning DF'd persons, you did the opposite? How was it like for you? :)

Hi Vanderhoven7 good morning. Nice enhancements there pal. Imagine not until after 22 years had I reflected on this subject for several time, then finally did a formal comparison between the 2 with all objectivity and honest-to-goodness intentions.

Hi folks. I don't know. The usual feeling for me - when I missed mid-week meetings - is to feel guilty, sad or depressed. It normally involved negative feelings.
But last night, I found myself just fetching my family from the Kingdom Hall after arriving while the closing song is being sung. Instead of feeling guilty again, I felt good inside. There's a sense of peace and degree of freedom. I told myself "this is quite strange".
Why is this? Have you experienced the same feeling before? Or because I made up my mind about the continuing indoctrination of the Organization (which I personally know) and that there's spiritual malnourishment in the meetings?

Thought of something which I cannot simply resist to share here. If the apostles were told not to bother with the times or seasons about the restoration of God's Kingdom, then who is the WT's Governing Body to impart prophetic interpretation that cannot be questioned by the JW community?
Apostles qualifications
> were directly inspired by the holy spirit in the 1st century
> chosen by the Lord Jesus Christ himself
> had hands on training with Christ
> became actual witnesses of the Master on earth, his death and his
resurrection
> some became authors of the Bible
Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses Qualifications
> not inspired though it claims to be guided by the holy spirit
> assuming anointed by the spirit, there's nor guarantee that
they are guided by the spirit 100% of the time;
> new members of the GB not the same small group of annointed ones
that were inspected by Jesus and chosen by him in 1918 (this claim remains
to be proven scripturally)
> new members appointed or elevated to such distinct privilege by
existing members of the GB based on spiritual qualifications and other factors
outside world don't know.
> issued doctrines and prophetic understanding that have changed or evolved
numerous times which caused confusion to the JW community, even to ex-JWs
and interested people following WT activities.
Please help me look for verses in the scriptures to prove that the GB is in a more esteemed position or has better qualifications than the apostles that the former deserve to KNOW better, UNDERSTAND better, and INTERPRET better.
If somebody proves it without question or aota of doubt, then I and perhaps majority of critics, will rest this case.

1 Corinthians 5:11-13 New International Version (NIV)
11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister [a] but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.
1 Cor. 5: 11 - where is the phrase here that makes a person associating with disfellowshipped ones unholy?
Likewise, Aaron's case is far from the experience of 1st Century Christians. The circumstances are different, the context is different. Why bridge both stories to prove a point against disfellowshipped members?

The Circuit Overseer Visit
by garyneal inlast week, the circuit overseer came to visit my wifes congregation and as usual their patterns change somewhat during this week.
from my perspective, the meetings are held on tuesday and thursday instead of the normal wednesday night during this week and they are more eager to go out in field service.
sunday came and my wife wanted us to attend the meeting.

How on earth or why on earth did GOD direct them to participate in the UN if it is the Image of the Wild Beast (as mentioned in Revelation)? How the THEY get it wrong if THEY are led along by God's Holy Spirit?
This post from Desirousofchange really caught my attention. If UN is the wild beast, an organization that is against God and has received severe criticisms from the WT over more than a decade, then who would even expect to see the WT becoming an NGO member of the UN?
Take the case of a highly reputable police officer who is very popular in a city because of his campaign against criminal syndicates and dangerous secret organizations. What would happen if you would discover that police officer himself is a secret member of one of the notorious syndicates, though not active in supporting its criminal activities? Would you not call it INSANE, SHOCKING, and UNBELIEVABLE?
Another example would be a man who is an officer and staunch supporter of an organization which protects women's rights against violence e.g. physical abuse particularly by erring husbands. What would be your reaction if you discovered that his wife is a battered one?
Let our readers exercise discernment.

Preaching the good news is one thing but distributing tracts to promote the website JW.ORG is another thing. The WT, by promoting its website, is opening its doors to further vulnerabilities. What would prevent new interested persons from not checking the other websites about Jehovah's Witnesses? Just go to Google and you will find on page 1 sites that are damaging vs. the JWs.

PEER PRESSURE!!! I gave in to Pioneering during August...I feel dirty...
by stuckinarut2 inok, i'll admit it...i am weak.... as everyone knows, the pressure to "pioneer" during "the most momentous, awesome, amazing, centenary anniversay of jesus invisble kigdom rule, & distribute tracts about a dodgy website" campaign is very strong at the moment.... also, many will have read my threads about the extreme views and expectations in our cong for "all appointed men to pioneer" etc..... every elder and ms and their families have been announced as pioneering....i mean everyone's name was read out except mine..... i was not going to do it, as i do not believe anyone should be forced...(and of course its the last thing on earth i would rather do anyway since learning ttatt).
but i am not quite ready to make the break yet, so i realised that i would stand out more if i didnt put in a form to pioneer.
yes it would make me more conspicious, and make fading harder to do...it would bring more heat on me if i didnt pioneer.. so i gave in and submitted a form.... now, of course, i'm only going to make sure i'm seen at the key field service groups etc...but then go and do something more interesting...like count blades of grass..... ahh....i feel hypocritical to myself now......

You were given a wonderful privilege. Make the most of it dear brother. Think that everything happens for a good reason. Put that time to good use, finding time to witness to our Lord Jesus Christ as well. No need to blame yourself or anybody nor regret that decision. Let the Spirit flow upon you.

Balancing the Mix of Healthy Spiritual Teachings and Questionable Doctrines as JW
by ProfCNJ inif you are a current or active jw, you cannot help but feel you are in a bind.
while you have discovered the truth about the truth and has continuously researched on it, you cannot help also but to regard the fellowship inside, add perhaps those encouraging teachings which build up faith and spirituality.. the reality is you cannot just turn a blind eye on the goodness in the organization too or shall we say some of its members who are also standing by you.
somehow, you felt the fds food is helping you in a spiritual sense.

Hello blondie, one can still be a JW. But I am trying to reprogram myself now not to jump the gun on other religions, specifically Chrisitian churches. It is not for the organization to judge for that is reserved for Christ alone. This is painful to learn first. But slowly, when you apply biblical principles on love (1 John 4:12) you begin to treat others differently, free from premature judgment. You make conversations more meaningful with others.
