I use the term dumbasses in the most loving manner possible. I have tried to avoid its use, but the dumbasses amongst us keep showing their dumbassedness to such a degree that I can't. I will keep trying.

Thanks for your input. But hate speech is hate speech. Religious people can frame it in old texts and books all they wish, but it is stiil hate. It serves no purpose other than to judge others and incite hatred towards them. Gays and lesbians, like it or not, have the legal right to marry in 32 states in the US and in many other countries. As they should. They are hurting no one. And what consenting adults do in private should be of no concern to anyone, and why anyone would give it any thought or energy is beyond rational thought.

The West and industrial nations are rapidly moving away from judging these things. Some theists are so tied up with old texts and books and what they think fairy tale gods believe that they can't think rationally about the topic. If my strong, direct language is offensive, so be it. But my language isn't one millionth as offensive as the hatred - and the damage it has caused - towards gays and lesbians created by old scrolls and belief in make believe fairy tale gods. Gays and lesbians have been discriminated against, many have committed suicide, gone into depression, etc. because of such hate. Some have been murdered, raped and otherwise assaulted simply because of their sexual persuasion and nothing more.

If speaking out in the strongest terms possible in order to mitigate that makes me, in your eyes, a dumbass, then I wear the title proudly. A dumbass I may be in your eyes, but there isn't one thing, not one, that i have stated about this topic that isn't 100 percent accurate.

I will continue to use strong direct language because the time for dumbasses to have opened their eyes, hearts and minds to acceptance is overdue. If they wish to continue hating, fine. But KEEP IT TO THEMSELVES. Bringing it out in the open will lead to the strongest condemnation and ridicule. Deservedly so.

I will stop using the term dumbass when the feeler/perceiver/believers amongst us remain silent or change their hearts.

i worked the election yesterday, here in california, poll worker, from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. it was fun and interesting, went pretty smoothly, nice day.

Ditto. I have the same data. Refusing to support minimum wage hikes or living wage laws is a tactic to keep people down and keep the rich getting richer. The argument has never been supported by the data. Note this article from July.

Many business groups argue that raising the minimum wage discourages job growth by increasing the cost of hiring. A Congressional Budget Office report earlier this year lent some support for that view. But the state-by-state hiring data, released Friday by the Labor Department, provides ammunition to those who disagree. Economists who support a higher minimum say the figures are encouraging, though they acknowledge they don't establish a cause and effect. There are many possible reasons hiring might accelerate in a particular state.

"It raises serious questions about the claims that a raise in the minimum wage is a jobs disaster," said John Schmitt, a senior economist at the liberal Center for Economic and Policy Research. The job data "isn't definitive," he added, but is "probably a reasonable first cut at what's going on."

I'm likely one of the most social/cultural people on this forum, and I have yet to be approached by the gay agenda and have yet to have any gay person force anything on me. Those of you who continue to spew such nonsense are rapidly becoming the minority in the US and the entire industrialized world. One day in the future your whiney hateful voices will be nothing but annoying background noise, similar to the occasional mosquito. Until you squash the bastard.

As we have mentioned each time one of you dumbasses uses words like gay agenda and gays forcing themselves on society, we say the same things. Every social movement always has its tip of the spear activists. The suffrage movement, the labor movement, the environmental movement, the black movement, etc. Those who are out front with their agenda are the small minority, but they are needed for any movement to succeed. And every one of those movements succeeded in moving the US towards acceptance.

Why do you dumbasses continue to stupidly whine about this? Get used to gay and lesbian images. I haven't heard your whines about hetero images.

We are talking about acceptance, ridding society of judgments based on sexual persuasion and activities which are private. If you wish to believe in angry gods who are going to detroy such then by all means continue to believe and hate. Thankfully society is gradually making the voicing of those opinions and judgments in public something to avoid.

Why are you so offended that I tell you the obvious- what consenting adults do in private is none of your business. Believe if you wish, just as racists can continue to be racists. But they can't act on it without consequences. Go into the privacy of your home or church and curse gays, lesbians, sluts, whores, swingers, transgenders, polygamists, polyamorists and people who play with their pets. That is your right. Ask your make believe friend in the sky to kill them all. That is your right.

But taking it out in public gets you what you deserve. I suggest you deal with it.

Marriage is a secular institution, and it has been practiced long before Xtianity appeared or even belief in your fairly tale Jah. I'm ok with you believing whatever you wish to believe, just as I support the Constitution's protection of church state separation which respects religious beliefs as long as they don't conflict with the state. But when it comes to the secular world what you believe about others' genitalia and how they use them is none of your business. What consenting adults do in private, I repeat, is none of your business, has never been any of your business and will never be any of your business. If you wish to keep your genitalia to yourself then by all means do so; in the meantime keep your judgments about what others do with theirs to yourself as well.

Please keep your narrow minded judgments to yourself or share them within your domicile or your place of worship.

In the real, secular world your beliefs have no place. Keep them to yourself. The world is rapidly changing, tellling you the same thing. I suggest you and Perry, rather than holding on to centuries' old dogma, deal with it or remain silent. The judgmental nouns and adjectives you use will one day be considered hate speech, because that is what it is. It may make you feel superior, but it is hate. And that isn't an opinion. The sooner that day arrives the better off our planet will be.

with the recent case of the watchtower hierarchy defying the court to either produce documents relating to child sex abuse claims within their organisation, and also refusing to produce a governing member to appear in court to answer questions , not only shows their arrogance and defiance of the law , they also show their contempt of the judicial system of the usa .. arent they supposed to be obeying the bible injunction ?

Bull freaking shift. They violated the law; it is that simple. They aren't coming for anyone who isn't breaking the law. And it's a damn good law. What part of the fact that the Hitching Post is a for profit commercial enterprise don't you get? There isn't a story here other than right wing, religious feeler perceiver hysteria.

And, my theist colleagues, it is entirely possible and perhaps likely that the Idaho city officials taking this stance have the same personal views as you. But gays and lesbians can now legally marry in 32 states (I believe that is correct), including Idaho. In the history of the US, few if any courts have ever found that a business selling commercial services to the general public has a First Amendment right to turn away customers on a discriminatory basis.

It is the law; they are both very good laws. The Reverend will lose. He deserves to lose. And if he violates the law, as long as he is running a for profit commercial enterprise, I hope they place his sorry ass in jail, because it is what he deserves.

This is my last post on this OP. Y'all hysterical right wing reactionary theists talk amongst yourselves.

For whatever reason, it is the Dark Lord's strategy. But sooner or later, after the appeals are exhausted, they will have to pay up. It would seem to me that keeping the Dark Lords away from court is the only strategy. Prosecuting attorneys would have a field day ripping them apart with their own words. There is a gold mine of damning evidence against them in the WT publications, stretching back for decades. If I'm the prosecuting attorney, I would spend excrutiating amounts of time, once I got one of the Dark Lords before me, asking them to respond to the idiot quotes and moronic directives provided over the years to the rank and file, and especially to the elders. I'm certain the attorneys have all of it; it is discoverable if not already made available by people like us. Big Smiley.

If I'm the WT attorney, I'm keeping the Dark Lords and their delusional narcissistic dumb asses away from public viewing at all cost.
