  The Pastor of my Old Church Tried to Re-Convert Me Yesterday

  yesterday evening my wife and i were invited to friends house for new year's eve.

  we met them when i was a christian and we have kept in touch.

  they had a few other friends there as well, including the new church pastor and his wife.

  Your beliefs are right down there next to feelings in the socio-evolutonary ladder. They mean little to nothing in a discussion such as this. And the bible is the best tool atheists and evolutionists have to disprove creation. Sad that you would feel the need to interject this at the end of this discussion. Narcissistic, lacking impulse control. And Kiss, I don't know what the ef you are talking about. Both of you should be ashamed jumping in at the end of this very amazing intellectual discussion with these posts.

  Great point. Cults eat their own, and the JWs are the best at it. Like you I never understood why they would recruit people only to mark them, not associate with or assist them simply because they didn't turn in enough hours preaching or didn't attend all of the meetings or do all of the other nauseating things Dubs do. This OP is a perfect example of how unloving, hate filled the Borg actually is. This experience is COMMON. Lurkers, current JWs, this behavior is disgusting. Organizations look like their leaders, whether it is a country, state, political, social, business or relgious organization or a sports team.

  The rank in file act the way they act because of the leadership. If that changed the behavior of the rank in file would change.

  Those body parts are very important!! Plastic surgeons can make vaginas all day long, but they cannot make a really good one of those!!! They are valuable and hard (pun intended) to replicate!!! If you had one you would know. And you could then read the WT!!! Of course you would also lose about 15 points on your IQ level and have only enough blood in your body to operate one thing at a time. And multi-task? Forgetabout it!!!

  The Borg will be the last to respect and recognize women.

  hello jwn!

  i don't get to check in here or comment as often as i would like because i have been working so hard at school...but i just have to share my news in hopes that newbees can see that taking the leap to enroll in higher education is worth it-.

  i am graduating this spring with a bachelor degree in art history, minor anthropology...many people (including nonjw's have given me flack for choosing a "dead end" career path) but since leaving the watchtower organization's group-think mentality and "leaning on my own understanding" instead... i decided to say fuck everyone else's opinion...i am going to pursue my passion to work in a museum as a curator or archivist-.

  I understand completely your thoughts. I was proud when I finished by undergraduate degree and was hoping as many JWs knew about it as possible. I had the same feeling when I got my Master's degree and when I complete my PhD, I'm gonna be like Snare and crow to the whole damn world!!!! I may even go back to the KH and make an announcement!!! Spread your wings and fly, baby girl.

  i am in awe of the level of intelligence, wit and funnybones that alot of you posess.. which made me wonder, did you have a mild superpower while you were in?

  for instance was it giving talks, commenting, research?

  maybe it was pissing people off (a much underated skill).

  Being able to separate attractive young women from their underwear. No wait, that was my superpower AFTER the Borg. (Just kidding) I would say that I developed an ability, which was one of the primary things that led me out of the Borg, to very quickly identifiy controlling language. And the Borg's writing and their henchmen, I mean elders (of which I was one), COs and DOs used language to control on an almost constant basis.

  I still have crazy super human powers when it comes to quickly recognizing when someone is trying to control, manage or manipulate through words, whether written or spoken.

  7 years ago i started on a path i had long ago given up on as impossible.

  i met with my elders and told them i could not justify carrying on as a jw.

  i went and got my high school qualifications and my higher education diploma (a levels with distinction) in just 12 months.

  is russia spiralling into a totalitarian dictatorship like germany in the 1930's and the soviet union from 1920's - 1990's with information control and coercive tactics?

  Your post reads like poetry, a sad song. Thanks. It was already looking a lot like you describe 2 decades ago when I left. It seems the pace of the dumbing down of the JWs has picked up. Predictable. The Borg's rulers want control more than anything. They found it difficult to control the intelligent, the educated, the spirited, the artistic and the talented. You are right in noting that there used to be a lot of interesting talented intelligent JWs. That wasn't much the case 20 years ago; from what you say it is even less now, which is predictable.

  Ok lurkers, will the last intelligent, interesting, talented, educated, accomplished JW left in the Borganization please turn out the lights of intellectualism when you leave? Thank you. The rest are already in the dark so they won't notice.
