I might think exactly the same way, but I'm not going to steamroll these beliefs upon other Americans. I've learned from leaving the WTBTS as well -- not to be pushy. I'll lay out anything I've found out, listen to all sides, and continue to look for more evidence. Even if I thought I had all the evidence in the world that America is going to hell in the freedom-robbing handbasket, and all the conspiracy theories were fact, I am still going to consider the contrarian views, and those who support the current war and terrorism prevention efforts.

Threat warning changing anyone's plans?

Sure, I disagree with the Bush administration, just like Clinton's, but I leave that out when I make my travel plans. Living life every day carries a degree of risk. I deal with it. A few threads up from this, on the same page, I outline my plans over the next 2 months to visit Florida. Terror, or no terror, the only thing different for me personally was a couple of extra questions and a bag search, since 9/11, on my visits to the States. Paradoxically, many in security positions were more relaxed, then I even remember before 9/11. That's my personal experience.
I may be a little strident in my views, and I may agree with some of what "back2dafront" brings out, but I hold a faith in the American people, and the Constitution. If America sticks to basics, everything should be ok, but who really knows? I'm not a prophet, unlike how some claim to be. I'm a self-contained one-man non-prophet organization. I've always supported grassroots Americans, and I've gained some good friends over the years. The American people are intelligent enough to see what's going on, even if stuff takes decades to play out. Republicans have good and bad ideas, Democrats have good and bad ideas. That's life. That's what America is all about. You can have fiercely independent views, and you won't get the death penalty.
I'm not getting any younger...and my illness makes incursions such that I need to leave Canada's wintry winters. I hang out in the Southeast...the Carolinas, Florida, Georgia...Obviously, if they close our northern border, I can't go...but all else being equal, I plan on enjoying the trip! And, yes, this is a Canadian saying that!

I need to get out of here for a couple of weeks or so soon, I'll be driving by "the big town"...Canada is one of the greatest places on earth, except for the winter . But really, the Southeast is my home away from home. Despite all that is going on, and our differences, God bless the U.S.A. I always yearn to visit, yearly at least, if not more... I simply hope that American government in power holds close to its Constitution and its roots. If it does, world events shouldn't get too out of hand. After all, that example of liberty is looked to by countries such as us in Canada. We're not perfect. But we try to follow good examples, and get by somehow.
If any of 'yall down in that neck of the woods, drop me a line, maybe we'll meet up someday... It takes 2 days to get to where we're going. Despite our awful currency exchange, a Canadian dollar being worth 65 cents now, I've never begrudged upholding the American economy, over the years. And the character of most of the people in the Southeast is honest and infectious. And the lack of sunshine we get here at this time of year takes a toll on my health...I can't do what I used to.
Any apostofests goin' on in the next 2 months?

if you live in england, be exspecting a call this month from the elders of your local kingdom hall if you have been dissfellowshiped,dissociated yourself or had any contact with the congregation in the past.....no it`s not coz they want their mouldy old books back; it`s some special effot ordered from bethel to get you back.....( obviously because their numbers have crashed since that panarama program last year,`suffer little chidren).
i was out shopping, when an elder from my local kingdom hall rugby tackled me.the sod had me cornered in a shop doorway for ten minutes...he told me that this special effort is for febuary only, and because he said it`s come down from bethel, i assume it`s only england.
