.
have any of you read this book?.
it is brilliant....and very be very disconcerting for anyone that has been entrenched in a religion, believing theirs is the only "true" religion.....robert heinlin's best
...And after you get through with that one read Heinlein's "Time Enough for Love" especially the "Exerpts from the Notebooks of Lazarus Long" They're ten times funnier ( and wiser ) than the book of Proverbs.
Example: " What are the facts? Again and again and again, what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore divine revelation, forget what 'the stars fortell', avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable 'verdict of history' -what are the facts, and to how many decimal places. You pilot always into an uncertain future; Facts are your only clue. Get the facts!"

for those of you residing in the northern hemisphere, there's nothing more satisfying than the onset of spring.
this a.m., after working a long shift at work, i arrive home after 5 a.m., and it's pleasantly mild (i live in toronto) and the sky is partly cloudy.
the moon is no longer full, but still very bright.
Ah, Yes... Spring... That lovely time of year when a young man's fancy turns to thoughts of love...But wait, I'm not a young man... I'm an OLD man! Oh well, what the hell, I'll just go out and mow the $&%# yard...

i have to post this question, because as i was trying so hard to talk to my husband about what i am learning and what others are saying, he is saying i am not doing this objectively at all, and only hearing things from bitter exjw's who are angry at the org for something.
i say this isn't true, i wasn't searching for answers due to a negative occurance in my life, and i don't believe everyone here was either.
he says i am only emotional about this, and trying to find reasons to prove all the things i have learned as wrong.
Hi
I wasn't bitter when I left. It's just that when I researched things that didn't jive with JW teaching and tried to talk about it, instead of lively discussion I got, "You should wait on Jehovah!" or "I just can't believe you would doubt the Watchtower" I finally came to the conclusion that people who THINK have no place in the organization. It wasn't until after I left that I learned all the pain and suffering that the WT has caused. If I had known then what I know now, I may have been bitter. Instead I'm just sad for all those that are hurting.

re first picture;.
imho the extinguished looking gentleman on the left hand side, wearing the cream suit [and standing out more prominently than anyone else] is our dearly beloved brother theodore jaracz.
I believe that the fellow on the left with the stylish cream colored suit is Brother Milton "Uncle Miltie" Henschel.

her ladyship has just presented me with a wonderful sunday lunch.
half a lobster as a starter, with salad garnish and vinaigrette.
the main course comprised a sirloin steak, bubble and squeak, topped off with a fried ducks egg.
...An' all I had was a Slim-Fast...
Cyrus...still on a diet...
hope you're having a bonza weekend!
mrs ozzie and i have really enjoyed a very pleasant time with friends and now are spending a bit of quiet time with a nice espresso.
so time to take a "break" and let's share some time reminiscing together about "the old days".
Hi!
I found that if you roll them up real tightly and tie them up that they make great fireplace logs!

My favorite was the FedEx commercial that was a take-off of the movie "Castaway"

where is the love that the societyclaims is amongst it's people?
i began studying january 2001. i had met a jw man that i truly fell in love with and found that i would at least look into the religion to see if it was for me.
i began studying with his sister, till she consciously no longer felt that she could continue studying with me, due to the fact that she did not approve of her brother dating me, since i was not a jw.

I'm very sorry to hear how you are treated. Just remember Jesus' words at Matt. 7:15-20 "...by their fruit you will recognize them" (NIV)
Truer words have not been spoken.
