The Shekinah: The New Name for God?
by cameo-d inthe hebrew word 'shekinah' is never mentioned in the bible.. the shekinah is said to be the "majestic manifestation of god which has descended to dwell with mankind.".
the shekinah appeared as a cloudy pillar in the day and a fiery pillar at night.
the nation of moses was led by the shekinah for 40 years.. the word shekinah is taken from passages referring to god dwelling in the tabernacle among the people.

End of days indoctrination
by m0nk3y inok this is like the first new topic i have added in .. forever ..
it would seem that despite all of the research i have done in the past that i have this unshakable fear of this economic crisis fulfilling bible prophecy.
i thought that i had worked through all of these demons, i thought that this was a past nightmare that would no longer effect me.

cameo-d despite my nerves being a complete wreck at the moment one thing I know for sure, my thoughts are NOT rational, they are NOT confirming that this is armageddon on the way, we have these feelings because we had been cut off from the rest of the world and forced to work in fear of death. This feeling is no more confirming this is the end no more than any other end of days prediction out there, too many to even bother typing. Despite this though, I guess this is a part of me that I might have to deal with on and off for the rest of my life, not pleasant thought though.

Ok this is like the first new topic I have added in .. forever .. It would seem that despite all of the research I have done in the past that I have this unshakable fear of this economic crisis fulfilling bible prophecy. I thought that I had worked through all of these demons, I thought that this was a past nightmare that would no longer effect me. And yet here I am again, obsessed with news articles, refreshing pages on the news and JW forums trying get some glimmer of hope that these feelings I have are all wrong. I hate myself for feeling this way, I hate myself for not being able to reasonable about anything at the moment. I AM TOTALLY OBSESSED, the only time I feel ok is when I am asleep! I am sure there are a few of you out there that are feeling similar, but for those that are not concerned, please share your reasons, please help me, I don't feel myself and so want to be wrong about what I am feeling. This is the power of 21 years of JW indoctrination and yet my feelings are no longer limited to JW indoctrination, as many of you are already aware JW's share many if slightly differing opinions with other christians of the time before Armageddon and I am totally obsessed with it. Please help me :( PS sorry for the lack of formatting, this forum seems to pull it all together in one clump

Fun at the book study

how can you possibly have fun at the book study?
well, it's easy to have fun with the revelation book, it's so full of forced interpretations and massive holes, you can just rip it apart (subtly, of course) it's also much easier to question things in a smaller group.
