Education Double Standard

this is the kind of thing that really burns me.. .

wtbts holds out an extreme double standard in regards to education.

most, if not all, of you know how they feel about obtaining an education past high school (in the u.s.).

Great post. There are so many of us out there that have gone through this. Not getting more educated. This was suppose to help us to take care of our families and to have better paying jobs. And how many are suffering now because of this. We could of become anything we wanted to, but instead we were good little robots for the WTBTS. ( I WILL OBEY.) It's a sad story being played out by so many of us. And I hope more JWS and ExJWS further their education so they'll be to be able to take care of themselves and their families.

Newly wed UBM and soon to meet JW in-laws

i have been lurking here for a couple of years.

my hubby (inactive & some doubts) and i were just married and i'll be going to his place to meet his family (pretty much dubs).

they seem to be friendly and excited to meet me, and i kind of had agreed to attend the kingdumb hall meeting once (in my life time, yep, that's the agreement) and also meeting an elder who brain-washed my hubby during his teen.

Happy your here and I hope your husband will come on board too. It sounds like your husband is being pulled towards the JWS. Have you sat down with him and truthfully has he told you what he wants JWS or not. You see he has to be honest with himself first. Does he want to live the LIE or not. Then that will make it easier for you to confront them or not. Is your husband afraid that he will lose his parents .Well at least he has you and all of us if he comes on the forum. I enjoyed that video very much. I think we can accomplish a lot just by our conduct. You can't force anybody to do anything they don't want to do. Just like you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. When their ready then they'll listen to us by doing some investigating on their own. Or maybe someday you just might get a phone call from one of them with tons of questions for you. Who knows what will happen, all I know is we can do is our best everyday to show them and others whose right and whose wrong. People will see on the outside to by looking in, and boy do they look in.

Fed up with the way JWs treat those who can no longer believe

my favourite uncle died about two years ago (non-witness) and my mother couldn't tell me .

earlier today i went round to the cathedral square of the city where i work for some lunch and i had the misfortune to sit near to an ol'boy witnessing to some people who were too polite to respond.

he kept going on about truth.

Sorry for not being able to show your last respects to your family members. It was their loss too. Good for you talking to the witness and trying to straighten him out. At least you gave a witness to the people that were sitting with him and whoever else may of heard. So good for you. You probably feel better knowing that the people that he was talking to probably won't sign up to be a witness.

Why does god kill children?

i was thinking about all the accounts in the bible that indicate god kills children as a punishment or teaching experience.

1. kills all of egypts firstborn sons, who were innocent kids who did nothing to him or his people, who had no control over the decisions pharoah made.

how many times have you read that account or thought about it without realizing the devastating pain dealt to all those parents, and remembered those were innocent kids?.

I haven't read all the posts on here, but has anyone thought that maybe Jehovah isn't the TRUE GOD. The reason why I say this is because why would a God of love kill children, let alone people, if he's a God of love. It doesn't make any sense to me.

i was just remembering some jw's i was especially fond of who left the borg when i was active.

in my sincere dubbiness, i called or went to see them to beg them to reconsider because i loved them so much.

(i didn't want them to become bird food) i literally cried for them.

Glad to hear your doing okay. Each day that goes by your getting closer to being really free from the clutches of the WTBTS. Sorry to hear about your mom ignoring you. Please don't take it personal she's just doing what she's told by them. No matter how bad it gets please don't think of committing suicide because you are worth so much to all of us on this forum,we need you and you need us. i really do and i am in fear that she is literally losing touch with reality to some degree.. even my father is telling me that her responses to me are growing weirded:.

i'm so happy to have been able to sleep in yesterday and this morning!

no fs and sunday meeting!

every weekend i feel a huge relief and both hubby and i always look at each other and say "it's great not having to go to meeting huh?".
