How many times have the WT said "The Time is at Hand"? (title of one of Russell's books)

If you do a search of the phrase 'Last Days' you can pretty much figure out that they were referring to the Temple Era being in it's last days.

Archangel01 Regardless of what the author of the 'Left Behind' series has written, you will not get away unscathed. Read and re-read Daniel 7:21-25 and Matthew 24:29-31 until it sinks in.

Sheep and Goats

if anyone can fill me in, i'd truly appreciate it.

a few days ago i came across a brief reference to changes that the wt made to the separation of the sheep and goat doctrine.

SM62 You are exactly correct.

Old light = faithful dubs going door to door were helping Jesus separate the sheep and goats. Hence the afluent sections of our territory were called 'Goat Hill'

New light = dubs still have to go door to door but the separation will not happen until the final trumpet blast and Jesus does it then.

Born Here In This House

i went by the old house i was born in the other day and took a picture.

my grandparents lived here in 1936. it was 1:30 in the morning in one of the upstairs rooms.

it was the coldest feb 10 since that date, i wonder if i had anything to do with that?

It's funny what memories we hold on to.

About the only memory of my great uncle was when he got drunk and was hanging by his knees from the clothesline and my grandmother, his sister, was smacking him with the broom. All us cousins were rolling on the ground laughing.

I cherish those days.

Likely the sect of Nicolaus accepted much of the teachings of the apostles but differed only in a few key doctrines?or perhaps just one. At any rate, the sect posed a very real spiritual danger to Christ's congregation.

And E-Watchman is different from the sect of Nicolaus how? He accepts much of the teachings of the WT and differs in a few. He is undermining the authority of the WT, seeking to have followers of his own.

I came to the same conclusion as Oracroth when the wool was removed from my eyes. The Sadduccees were asking who the woman would belong to. Jesus said that she would not belong to any of her previous husbands. They would be like the angels, having only Jehovah as their head. At the time of ressurrection they would not be given in marriage to anyone. They did not ask about future prospects of marriage only about their narrow minded trick question.

By the way this brings up the question about where Jesus' audience thought the woman was to be resurrected?

Did a 'major-event' cause you to join/leave JW?s?

it seems to me, many people become jw?s after a major event in their lives.

perhaps it is the death of a loved-one, such as a father, mother, child, wife, or husband.

on the other hand, it?s also my observation that a "major-event" often causes an active jw to rethink what they are doing with their life, whether they are really in the "truth," as jw?s call it.

A serious auto crash that I nearly died from caused me to search for God. The friendly elderly couple at my door helped to seal my fate.

Finding out that the child abuse/molestation problem was so widespread caused a crack in my WT armor. The UN issue was the straw that broke the camel's back. That was just more hypocracy than I could tolerate.
