  1. is it possible to worship jehovah without a earthly organization, just on your own?.

  2. if jesus came to earth today would the wt society make him get baptized and then df him for apostacy?.

  i was just wondering this because i received a book yesterday from my parents called "draw close to jehovah" i skimmed through this book and found nothing new, same old rhetoric from the 80's.

  1. The worship of God through Jesus does not need an organization. There is a danger when praise and or worship that should be directed to God becomes shared with an organization. That is idolatry.

  The approach to God is through Jesus not through a secondary mediator.

  An organization can serve a purpose, bringing together people of various talents and abilities but can become a dangerous thing if gone unchecked. The organization can become the end rather a means to an end.

  We should seek fellowship with other Christians (coming to this forum is one way). Matt 18:20 says "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst." (Hi JC)

  But the gathering or group ought to serve Christians not insert itself between fellow Christians and Christ.

  2. Jesus Christ would not submit himself to a ritual that puts an organization on the same level as himself and his father. They would not baptize him unless he agreed to answer YES to their silly questions.

  So wars in the cradle cause earthquakes. But wars in other places do not? Gaia doesn't care that 100,000 plus people died in Japan by dropping a bomb but gets all bent out of shape over a skirmish in Iraq?

  In a heartbeat.

  My second husband got the axe for marrying me. I was DF'd at the time. He was a really nice person. (deceased now) He saw that I was working on my car and stopped to see if he could help. He fixed my car and asked if he could take the kids to a movie. He and I became friends and he asked to marry me. The cong gossip reported him and the rest is history.

  i only know a handful of witnesses, but i do know several ex-witnesses.

  all of them left in their late teens, which (as i've read here) is pretty common.

  i know there are a lot of people here who left later in life.

  if jws r ministers(we r talking about britain here), i understand u r considered self-employed if u r a religious minister, so presumely ucan't claim the dole,presumely when u r self-employed, you have 2 made provision 4 a pension(not sure if that is right).. if some1 assumes that that a jw is a religious minister and that anything they say is confidential,but the jw breaks that confidence, could some1 sue 4 breach of confidence?.

  Interesting indeed. On this side of the pond the designation minister worked to keep JW's out of the military during WW2. The draft board would consider a young man a minister if he had a certain number of hours in FS. Not sure how many. Now that there is no draft here the requirements of hours for FS have been dropped to remain active. It seems that it was tied to the draft laws somehow.

  The party line is still you are an ordained minister as soon as you come up out of the water. In reality the government recognizes only the elders as ministers being authorized to perform marriages and such. I don't know if they can get tax privileges. A Baptist minister for instance does not have to pay sales taxes and I do believe he is exempt from Federal Income Taxes. Correct me if I am wrong.

  What kinds of government perks or hinderances apply to JW ministers? Hmmmmmmmm

  Momof many join your children's school PTA or whatever it is called. Go to every school function and take the kiddies. Find out what kind of county or city recreation centers are available and see if they have classes to take with your children. Be it pottery or theater or tumbling. Get out of the house.

  I never accepted the 1918/1919 fulfillments of prophecy as well as the convention in 1920. Whenever it was mentioned I did a mental "Whatever" gymnastic and continued on.

  When I heard rumors of child abuse cases and surfed the net and found Silent Lambs I was shocked and livid!!!!! DA'ed myself faster than you can swat a mosquito. Told them I refuse to sully MY name by being associated with an org that tolerates, aids and abets child molestation. About a week later I found out about the UN fiasco on the net and have been learning new things almost weekly

  Wow Elamona we must be clones! That was my exact route out. I though had three visits by the Gestapo before they got my DA letter.
