Sorry folks. My previous reply to Scoob contained the "f" word. I have since edited it.

he looked like al jareau/ louis farakan with his little bow tie and his wife looked like venessa williams a light skinned woman with green eyes.
they were the cooliest couple i had ever met in the traveling work- they had a style that was very unusal, in most cases the wife if often times unknown and stands in the showdow of her man, not levine she was all woman- smile.
alot of the boys had a crush on her - she never got fresh but she was just nice-.
He was the first CO to call on me to give a prayer at a meeting. I was 15.
If I met the man today I would probably have a different opinion of him then back then -- when I thought he was cooler than a cucumber.
The man has a big ego....and so does his wife. He was an ostentatious dresser (for a WT man) and made some comments in his talks that were not ver kosher (for instance, he once called the staffs that became snakes in Exodus "holograms" wtf kind of weirdo/pseudoscientific exegesis was he pulling out of his ass?)
Hey, he was a nice guy. Flashy, not that incredibly bright, but a nice guy. They got in some hot water from the Society for the aforementioned flashiness (oh, and he also had the habit of giving away assembly parts to brothers that would take him to Chicago Bulls games back in the Jordan era ) I believe they are in some rural area in the South. Too bad. He would have been a great running mate for Al Sharpton.

some comments here, suggest regret---that you were afraid of these simple men.
have you ever told an elder off?
what was the result?
Yeah, I had an elder off real good one times. See, we was in the lyeberry and....oh, you mean tell an elder off. My bad.

I think of this every once in a while. Really, breaking free from this insane religious shit-parade was the greatest thing I've ever done in my life. Woah....hold on a second....that's kinda sad

there's a girl in my math class at community college who...omg she is such a hottie.
a babe-alicious babe.. i am very inexperienced in these matters, i guess you could say i'm relationship challenged.. how do i approach her?
she seems to struggle a bit with the material we're covering in class, and it comes pretty easy to me.
Dan,
Don't worry about it. Now you've just got to go and ask another girl out. Do this often. Throw enough darts and you are bound to hit the target.

If anything the media is biased towards a conservative viewpoint. Just think about it: they're owned by megacorporations who favor the rich and powerful and do not wish to change things very much. The fact that the media "appears" somewhat liberal (as opposed to the reactionaries) works right into conservative hands. An illusion of dissent is created in the public's minds. Joe Sixpack thinks: "Well, the media appears liberal, how could I possibly go further to the left then them!"
Just look at the way non-American media report on the US. Try the BBC for instance. Humungoid difference.
Noam Chomsky has a lot to say about that. I don't agree with him on everything, but he makes a lot of sense in this area.

simon has restored my limits...thanks simon.
ya know...if i insult someone...i generally don't mean it...and i usually apologize for it....the topics that got me in trouble are ones i feel very strongly about.
people i know are in harms way...being shot at...and dying...many here would say there's no meaning to those deaths...which takes the heart out of a soldier and makes it harder for them to concentrate and stay out of harms way.
No, no, no Simon....we wanted Bush deleted, not Yeru.

jesus dies to end sin and death in 33 ce yet we are all sinning and dying 1970 years later.
hmmm.... .
jesus is proclaimed king of god's kingdom and rules over the earth in 1914 yet we still have hundreds of governments ruling over the world today.

Babylon the Great -- all religions except the JWs -- fell from power in 1919 yet all the churches are open for business and people are more religious than ever. Hmmm....
Sounds fishy to me.
