  marriage without affection/sex/touching

  yes thats my situation.

  some where along the path of life the wt guilt trip was dumped on our marriage and we havent had sex for years.. anyone else?

  the hearts and flowers and gifts and doing the cleaning, the house work and paying the daily accounts never being drunk on drugs playing the horses or screwing others yep its all there but nothing coming back due to the wt guilt trip.. they made so much of 'oral sex' and 'pornea' incorrectly quoted at that and ventured thereby into areas they were patently very ill equipped to comment on.

  I'm pretty sure I could go for a week without sex with my wife, I don't think I could cope with a week of her refusing to talk to me.

  yesterday evening my wife and i were invited to friends house for new year's eve.

  we met them when i was a christian and we have kept in touch.

  they had a few other friends there as well, including the new church pastor and his wife.

  How does a world with an ignorant or weak god look any different from a world with no god? What makes a god of this sort worthy of our attention.

  This kind of god would still be very worthy of our attention wouldn't it? At least from a scientific standpoint.

  Thanks for the response Tammy, where I was looking for clarification, I assume you believe Christ/the spirit spoke to the apostles and even the prophets pre-christ, so I didn't understand why you would disagree with their words in the bible as they should be at least as equally knowledgeable.

  Does this mean you think all the original bible writers wrote truth but that some of the later translators didn't so we don't have original copies?

  Eden, thanks for the clarification, I don't think I was too far away from your point, the reason I called it the 'prodigal son' defense was because the Father in that parable was not really 'punishing' the son by fulfilling his request, simply 'allowing nature to run its course' as you say.

  Edit: I'm not sure I'd say it's effectively the JW position either, in the sense that I didn't get from Eden that he thought god was doing it to prove a point.

  Eden, are you trying to say that since the rebellion/fall God gave humans what they wanted I.e. To act as the God of their own world?

  Eden, I was explaining the problem of evil as dealt with by most open theists. You can take it any direction you want, but I suppose open theists would argue that God tries to prevent evil because they think he's nice like that.

  Eden, preaching is not the same as debating.

  In open theism god sees the future as a set of possibilities rather than as a certainty, so he would have been aware of the possibility of the tsunami but not the Certainty. He would then try to prevent it through persuasion instead of coercion as coercion might necessitate destruction of the force behind the evil and leave open no hope of redemption. I found this compelling until I read the brothers kamarazov.
