Hi Jan, the bible does include inconsistent stories. You could start with Genesis 1 and 2 which present somewhat different creation stories.
Biblical inerrancy makes it impossible to just read the bible.
when confronted with all of the inconsistencies and atrocities of the bible, many believers invariably claim that they don't base their faith in christ on what's written in the bible.
so what is the basis then, if not scripture?.
and please don't tell me "the lord has revealed himself to me".

If the bible isn't the inerrant word of God, than Jesus was just a regular guy with an entourage, if he existed at all.
Hi Keyser, I don't follow this point, isn't this a bit of a stretch? If there are errors in Josephus writings' does it follow that everything in it is therefore made up?
this looks interesting, this guy is bringing the right to family life into his case.
many have thought of doing this.
maybe a good test case.. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/jehovahs-witness-sues-for-150000-after-church-snubbed-him-over-fraud-claims-9750062.html.

Jon Morley is a decent bloke, from my experience. He is very much an Organisation man but I still like him, all things considered. I would not want him to lose this case, but hope the Society has to pay out.

I was a member of the Wimbledon congregation for about 8 months and left in June 2013. I never once met or saw this guy and have never heard of him. It says he was a member for 20 years, perhaps, but if he was he was far from regular, or I would know him. I was very surprised when I read this article on my tube ride home in the paper, as I assumed I knew everyone in Wimbledon. Jookbeard, as stated above, was in Wimbledon before me so will be interesting to see if he knows him.
Jonathan Morley, mentioned in the article is the PO or whatever they call that now.
As St. George said, the infamous Michael Porter is in that same Congregation, I knew him well.
as you all know i am just going thru the motions.
well today during the brain washing session.
one stupid elder made the comment of.....an i quote "the jw.org website is the most visited website in the world!
I don't find it too surprising that JWs are so high on the denominational visits list, as most religious denominations don't print regular religious material that their members are required to read and study.
jehovah wants his faithful witnesses for hating the university:.
university and college campuses are notorious for bad behaviordrug and alcohol abuse, immorality, cheating, hazing, and the list goes on.
what is the atmosphere in many of this worlds institutions of higher education?
My first insight into real evolution discourse was through Behe. A JW friend lent me his book, I loved it and wanted to see what the evolutionists had to say it about because I assumed they'd be silent on it, so I read some criticisms on the net which started to rock my world. I then abandoned any study of evolution for the next 6 years. Doh!
not sure if this has been mentioned on this board yet, but i just heard from a fairly reliable source that the annual meeting will discuss, among other things, major changes in the 'bible teach' book.
has anyone else heard this??.
.
So I suppose the bible never really taught those things that now need to be revised? Wonderful.
that sometimes he has doubts about god and why he allows so much evil and suffering in the world.. fair play to him.. can't see any members of the gb admitting that in public, or any of the eldurrs etc...... .

Welby is class.
