  How do you respond to JW family?

  for those who have left and are still in contact with jw family, how do you usually respond when they bring up jw stuff, i.e.

  start talking about the nearness of armageddon or things like that.. i usually say nothing and just let it pass but i'm considering changing tact to something more confrontational, less because i want to change their mind and more because i find it tiresome.

  thoughts?

  Thank you for your responses all, sorry I took so long to return, bad form :/

  It bothers me that I think my parents take my silence as proof I can't argue with them. I suppose I should care less what they think of me, I am happy now after all.

  if all religion is a snare and a racket as per judge rutherford, then has religion maybe lied to us on this score too?.

  could jesus have meant: "if you belonged to the (religious) world, it would love you as its own.

  as it is, you do not belong to the (religious) world, but i have chosen you out of the (religious) world.

  Wife just found out I won't be attending the Memorial this year!

  my wife is staying with 'friends' out of town recovering from surgery on her foot.

  i called to see how she was healing up and mentioned that i hope she gets back on her feet before i leave for the states to visit family (all non-witness) in april.

  i begged her to postpone this surgery until i got back, but she did not forsee any problems.we will see.. anyway, it dawned on her that i won't be here to attend the memorial and she said: you are probably happy about that.

  hi all, i haven't posted here in a while, felt like a break and have been insanely busy, i don't think too much about jw stuff now, but wanted to pop in anyway.

  have i missed anything recently?.

  i am very happy, much to my surprise, i think it would be nice to go back to the end of 2013 and tell the depressed and lonely version of me that he can't even comprehend how good life could be.

  The apostle’s creed shows that Christianity is based on having to embrace barbaric human sacrifice and the notion that the guilty should be forgiven if a suitable human sacrifice is made to God.

  Hmmm... No it doesn't.

  Anyway, I am not sure what "Judeo-christian" values Nigel is talking about, I am guessing not the value about welcoming immigrants into your nation, for starters. :/

  Hey friends :) 

  Clarity, my advice would be to practice patience, you won't replace your support network overnight, and be open to people, my best friend now is gay, sadly I would have hated him 5 years ago. :/

  My job is going great! Things are still in the pits with family but I'm learning to live with it.
