pope thus admits that every verse of the bible is not literally inspired.

if gb is wise enough, they can come out of the mess they have gone into, making use of this opportunity that pope has opened saying bible is not to be taken literally.

"a history of christianity - the first three thousand years", by diarmaid macculloch.

"misquoting jesus", by bart ehrman.

NT Wright's 'Christian origins' series is pretty good, if a bit heavy.

Morning Witness - Sowing the Seeds

so i walked past a couple of young witnesses on the way to dropping my son off this morning and they were still there at the station when i came back to catch the train.

seeing them made me feel sad and think about all the stories of regret here on jwn so i figured what the hell i'll tell them.

so i approached them and asked how old they were.

i can do what i want i'm a grown adult.. ok...ok...so my jw childhood friend who i have not seen forever, came by for a visit.. i mentally went through the check list:.

Mormon Church Founder had 33 wives

Has growing up as a JW affected my ability to forgive ?

i really don't understand the concept of forgiveness .

lately in my life several people have thrown that term around so easily ,and i am confused .

is it because we were taught to cut people off so easily as jws that i find it hard to forgive ?.

I think it's important not to seek retribution against people who have hurt you. I am upset at my former JW friends for shunning me for example but I wouldn't take any glee in them facing the same shunning were they to somehow rebel, and I would welcome them back in my life if they wanted me back. My forgiveness however doesn't extend to me going back to the JWs and pretending nothing is wrong.
