  i found an old friend via the meetup site: http://www.meetup.com.

  the person i've found was part of my first congregation.

  I found an old friend via the meetup site: http://www.meetup.com

  The person I've found was part of my first congregation. He had an overzealous, single mother, pioneer and he's recently "out". I emailed him a link to this site and I hope he responds. I haven't spoken to him in at least 19 years.

  Have any of you had a good reunion with a long lost JW friend and how did it turn out?

  2 elders came to my door today, at noon sharp, and i opened the door to let them in.

  they didn't want to come in, so they stood at the door and asked me, "what's stopping you from coming to the hall"?

  they only come once a year and always around christmas time.

  actually a restaurant in the gay village here in town, with my brother and his partner of 20 years (!

  Yes, Stacy, I think they do. I was never actually homophobic even as a Witness but, once you get to know people who are homosexual your perspective is entirely altered.

  Ascot, I went to a gay bar for the first time last year. Yeah, it was kind of dull for anyone who thought "Queer As Folk" was an accurate representation of the gay lifestyle. I enjoyed myself because I got to drink beer and play pool with a really great guy. I didn't find it that much differant than most bars.

  Hey Obi, while I agree with the gist of what you said there is a differance between criticism and constructive criticism. Criticism is merely meant to tear down while constructive criticism is meant to upbuild. The motives behind each are entirely differant. I, myself, can usually tell the differance.

  when the pearl jam single i am mine came out a little over a year ago, i was still a witness.

  it's easy to see why the lyrics appealed to me at a time when i was subconsciously trying to free myself from the mind control.. i know that i was born and i know that i?ll die.. the in between is mine.. i am mine.. .... we?re different behind the eyes, there?s no need to hide .

  .... the sorrow grows bigger when the sorrow's denied.. i only know my mind.. i am mine.. freedom has been a gradual process.

  I just wanted to add my congratulations to the both of you. (((Meia & Dan))) I can't imagine how hard it was for the two of you to keep that a secret for so long. I only knew about it for the last 2 months or so and it was hard for me to not tell anyone. Sheesh!
