Recently disfellowshipped prominent Assembly overseer in Western Europe now speaking out against the Watchtower org.
by the research lady informer elder, and assembly overseer roberto from france will be joining barbara and joe anderson on tonight's conference call, july 18,2009. roberto was disfellowshipped in june 2009 and after many faithful years of service is now joining thousands of others who are speaking out against the evils of the watchtower organization.
our call tonight will be focused on how the country of france, as well as other european countries are investigating jehovah's witnesses.
the watchtower organization is experiencing difficulties in these countries for the inhumane treatment and exerting too much control over people's lives.

I would like to know if you have succeeded in helping your friends or family SLOW DOWN in their zeal as a JW
by BonaFide ini have read thousands of posts on this forum, and i am finding with all your experiences that however hard we try, it's difficult to actually get a family member or friend to disassociate themselves.
after all, some of us are still "active jw's", right?.
but, i have been noticing that some seem to have accomplished enough with questions and comments that at least their family members or friends are less active as jw's.

I agree with Blondie that it only works with people that already have a few cracks in their armour. Hubby however, as been successful with one family that has completed left. and together we have helped a good friend who also took "french leave" as we say in Canada.
For the most part, trying to educate someone has always landed me in the back room of the hall

I had one of those discussions this weekend - Am I getting anywhere?
by BonaFide inlast week during bible highlights, a sister commented on leviticus 19:28 about not having a tattoo.
i also commented, saying that we are not under the law, but the principle should be taken into consideration.. a sister i don't speak with very often called me.
she is in the same congregation as some of my family.

Hi Bonafide, from personal experience .......I think you are wasting your time and energy. Don't forget most jw are brain dead when it comes to thinking things out in a logical way.
The last year or so, I've been escorted to the back several times because I made some comments that didn't have the faithful slave sound. Recently was told by elder to keep conversations on the weather.

The Spain Branch will pay now to: bethelites, special pioneers, Circuit y Distric and missionaires
by JHK inthe spain branch, now will pay directly to: bethelites, special pioneers, circuit, district and missionaries... with our money!
the congregations must not given money to the full time ministers.
the governing body bank wants to have all money in its hands.

If not, why is this so controversial? Seems like a reasonable business decision to
But watchtower is not your regular business. There will be something in it for them. I think they will charge the congregation more that the actual expense reported by CO and others.

How many lives have been RUINED by the Organization? Experiences?
by BonaFide ini think that some people deserve to be excommunicated, such as pedophiles.
but what about the tens of thousands of others that have their life wrenched out from under them by being disfellowshipped?.
and what about those that have a family member that died because of not receiving a blood transfusion?

Reeina says:
bonafide is firmly placing the blame for our actions and choices at the feet of the wt, but were is anyone acknowledging that they themselves have made the choice to become a witness to get baptised?Just so you know Reeina, I and many many others on this board did not have the opportunity to make a choice. Many of us were born into it, brainwashed from very early impressionable years. I was not taught critical thinking skills. Now that I have finally understood, I am making an informed choice. But I will tell you that watchtower has warped me in many ways. It was warped you too, but you don't even realize it, yet.
you look though the yellow pages and find a job you then apply getting a full info on what is involved and you take the offered job, if it doesn't work out wasn't the choice yours in the first place?Yes but I can back out of the job and find another. You cannot do this with the jw faith. and you know it. I dare you to go to your elders and inform them, that you have decided to look elsewhere now and see what will happen. Or better yet, if you are so broad minded and feel that you know something that we don't, tell you elders that it's your choice to be on this so -called apostate forum. I would love to hear if you will change your tune when it touches your flesh.
It's easy to blame others the hard thing is accepting you yourself made the choice and so need to take some responsibility if that life didn't suit you and you no longer agree with the doctrine. This statement lacks maturity and obviously you have many things to learn.

I wouldn't say that my life is completely ruined. I wont allow watchtower to run the remaining years of my life. But, I have many regrets. Watchtower almost left me childless and uneducated. I look back at the my life and feel that I wasted the best part of my years banging on doors. (20 years of regular pioneering). Like many here, I can't get those years back. I am very angry that a man made organization led me like a puppet for most of my life. don't put your monkey rench in peoples feelings and experiences.
Bonafide, I follow your threads carefully, although I don't always post. Thanks for all your imput here.
And REENIA, please dont put your monkey rench in people's feelings and experiences. YOu really get on my nerves
