  i am back from bakersfield and i can say it was the best district convention ever!

  the end is coming soon, a few of the annointed were speaking about 2014 possibly being the year that jehovah would destroy all the hateful apostates!

  the focus of this convention was not on love or the message of the good news of the kingdom.

  Very nice . thank you Barb. Roberto DiStefano is a real thorn in the side of Watchtower. I applaud him. He is an intelligent, articulate man. Funny I don't hear his italian accent. but then I am Italian, i speak like him.:)

  firstly, love and greetings to all - i've been lurking here and elsewhere for a long time and have benefitted more than i can say.

  i'm still in - i have a genuine fear that coming out would kill my mother - but i've recently taken the first step away.

  i told a non-jw friend that i knew it was all a load of nonsense and i didn't believe any of it.

  If you been lurking then you know that there are many of us in in the same predicament---having a parent(s) and treading lightly so as not to cause unnecessary grief.

  It's commendable that you are trying to do something from within. I know that through the years, hubby and I have helped a few to see the 'light".

  Marathon service days before Sept 1

  so my wife showed me her instagram and one of her friends posted a picture of herself and a couple other pioneers with the title "20 hours in so far on our 24 hour day of service!

  " mind you they were all sitting in starbucks.

  this just made me want to scream!!

  AAHH yes --I remember those. While everyone else enjoys "the lazy days of summer", pioneers enjoy the "marathon service days before new service year starts".

  I never participated in the 24 deals, I do remember the 12-13 hour dashes to finish. When I look back I am ashamed at myself for allowing my life to be controlled like that. :(

  though it still depresses me to think of all the young ones (including my own relatives) falling under the influence of this dangerous piece of propaganda, it's at least some small comfort that the sparlock video is backfiring so dramatically among thinking non-jws.. .

  i saw a fight break out on the platform between an elder and a unbelieving husband who accused the elder of f---ing his wife.

  he then threw the lectern on the floor and pushed the elder.

  it was cool.......

  I remember this thread from way back.

  Once 2 sisters were doing their talk during the TMS. They were pretending to talk on phones. The audience could see a mouse climbing up the cord. All,of a sudden two elders went running up the stage trying to capture this mouse who kept getting away. The audience was roaring with laughter. The sister giving the talk kept raising her legs up, but she just right on talking. LOL

  Another time, I witnessed an explosive verbal cat fight between two elder's wives. These were from the Greek congregation and we couldn't understand what they were saying. one was spitting at the other. No one was doing a thing to stop it. The elders were just watching on . Eventually this cong was disbanded.
