So what is so wrong with the WTS doing some research and changing a doctrine.?
WTS professes to be a direct channel to God. That's the difference
ok - dont shout at me -but i know that archaeologists will change a theory based on a new find.

church leader sentenced for molestation.
san jose, calif. (kcbs) -- a man from san jose has been sentenced to twelve years behind bars for repeatedly molesting the daughter of a fellow church member.
an elder of the Jehovah's Witness church, was charged with continuous sexual abuseAren't elders supposed to by chosen by holy spirit? I wonder how they explain that.
every time a circuit and district overseer visited our congregation, the elders always wanted a show of hands from the congregation to see if we would pay for their car expenses and travel.sometimes the congregation would pay for airline tickets.it was always approved.. do you know if the idea came from the local congregations to pay?
did the wts send out letters to each congregation to see if they would pay?
we know that the wts always get what they want.. it's amazing how we paid $250-$400 for each overseer visit and the wts paid nothing..
I don't know where it all started but C.O. and D.O. are not hurting financially. I think of the CO that visits the congregation I attend.T He visits roughly 20 congregations per circuit. Most of the congregations resolve to pay his expenses. If the expense is $100.00 x20 = $2,000.00. They visit the circuit twice . That is $4,000.00 per year. Add to this all the money gifts they get from different members in the congregation. Let's assume 5 dubs give him 20.00 each. That's another 100.00 per week $100.00x20= $2,000.00. They visit again that's another $2,000.00. In a year they may get a minimum of $10,000 tax free.
On top of that the circuit puts him up in a nice appartment. The circuit gives him a car. Society gives him an allowence. Meals are provided for him and his wife. They get wined and dined. Pretty good life I would say.
did you refrain from obtaining a degree or advanced studies when you had the chance because it wasn't the witness thing to do?
how has this affected your life?
comments, rants, and personal experiences please.
That is a real sore spot for me. In a conversation with my father I told him how watchtower had denied me an education. His response was "they never told you not to go. I never told you not to go". But he never encouraged me to go either.
I was bitter for a long time.
what do you think of ray(mond) franz?
i have seen here some people critisise him as not being a really heartfelt opponent of the wts, but my view is that he was quite honest about his expressed motives against the cult.
with his revelations he gave a lot of momentum to the ex jw movement (the apostate organisation according to the jws) and offered valuable assistance to those seeking to shake off the ideological and social dependance on the oppressive cult.

I heard some criticism about Ray Franz too. What else could the man do. Thanks to his books hundreds have seen the "light". The man is a true gentleman. Sometimes you catch more flies with honey. He sure did

there were other people who either killed themselfs or tried to kill themselfs while they were at "the house of god.
one person who did kill himself was richard wheelock, press room overseer ......he jumped out of a window at the watchtower farm one day.......it seemed, he was never quite the same after his wife "willy" died..she seemed to be the only one that he could relate to.......which would make sence.....because he sure couldn't relate to any of us in the press room..........he would come over to our press and say "here is the work... get in out".......then just walk away.......he was not the type of person you would really want to talk to anyway......but wouldn't it be nice if just now and then, like every year or two, they might ask you how you were doing?.........you laugh.......but its true......i asked a friend of mind who was the press operator of press # 6 which at the time was one of the three biggest presses at bethel.
he had been in the press room for 4 full years.
Well New boy,
I really enjoyed and looked forward to your bethel experiences. Thanks for sharing
ok so apparently the gb has instutuited some kind of quota for aux pioneers for the month of april for the memorial or something.
so the pos wife came up to me yesterday and told me "every congregation needs at least 16 aux pioneers for the month of april.
you should can i count on you?
Yep, they want about 20% to aux pioneer in April. Hubby was at elder's meeting last week and were given a aux pioneer form and instructed to bring it in filled at the next meeting.
i came across something i'd written exactly 2 weeks and 5 days after i first became convinced (in a stupor) the the watchtower society wasn't the channel of god--and that they didn't have "the truth.
when a person sins against god.
the society is here teaching that confession of sins is something we do to jehovah.
WOW
How did I miss reading this two years ago?
less then two years ago my cousin, who was then 39, was working on his parents home and found he was having a hard time hammering in nails.
he would hit the nail, but as hard as he would try, he would end up making it crocked and he could not control it.
he thought this was weird, and decided to visit a doctor.
My condolences to you for your loss Freetobeme.
I did know someone with Lou Gehrings. It was very hard to watch her deteriorate and die. Scary stuff

the latest from brooklyn ( my mate in upper management ) i thought id share.. .
the watchtower is remaining bi monthly.
instead of both monthly offerings sharing same formats there is a change coming into action soon.
SOOO let me think this through. There is going to be one mag/rag for the public and one mag/rag for the insiders.
Seems to me the Kool-aid glass is going to get passed around a lot quicker. The leadership is slowly distancing the flock and isolating it and becoming more cultish at an alarming rate. The noose is tightening up. They are going to be beating their fellow brothers a lot harder.
I can wait to see what the content of the insider mag/rags will be like
