The Pressure Is On to Pioneer in April
by dontplaceliterature ini know there have already been a couple of threads posted about this, but i thought it made since to bring it up again.
i hadn't really heard any "oh my what a blessing, are you pioneering in april?
" talk right after the big announcement last month.

Here's an update to what has happened since I used the words, "Big News," five years ago
by AndersonsInfo inhttp://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/scandals/103353/1/the-news-is-bigger-than-dateline-bbc-cbc-etc.
as many of you know, i made the "big news" statement when kerry louderback-wood's scholarly article about watch tower's blood misrepresentation that was published in the journal of church and state was just about to be published.
i was excited about it because lives were at stake and weve never had such an article before to be able to use to show how the watch tower misrepresents the blood issue through its literature and people die because of it.

If Your Husband (wife) is Still In - -
by Had To Go indo you vacillate between caring that he/she is still entrapped in this cult and wanting to show them everything you have learned since your awakening and not wanting to rock the boat and therefore just keeping all this knowledge to yourself?
i wonder if it is normal to go back and forth like i do.
one day i want to tell my husband something i may have read here or on another forum and maybe, just maybe i will pique his interest.

Has to Go,
I really sympathize with your dilemma. There really is no easy way. But I have to agree with fellow poster BluesBrother to "try and sow seeds gently". In my own situation, hubby used that approach. He would point something here and there and finally the "rose coloured" glasses came off.
Its a process that may take some time...but in the long run if you want to keep your family intact, its the only way to do it. And don't think for one minute that your partner doesn't have doubts or sees the rot in this organization. Intrinsically every Jw sees things are not right....but most have tricked themselves in thinking the organization can do no wrong.
I hope things work out for you.

Did you have higher ed when you were in? If so how were you treated as a result?
by highdose ini went to both collage and uni when i was a jw, i got marked and shunned as a result.
it seemed like every week there would be some dig made from the platform about " those that chose higher education" , my so called "freinds" were constandly on at me " why don't you pioneer highdose?!!".
i even had the ciruit overseer denounce me from the platform as being "spirtualy weak" never mind that most of the peers i grew up with had got themselves reproved or disfellowed and that i was the only who had been good!.

I went back to school after my eyes were opened up...I didn't tell anyone...so I didin't get any flack. It's nice to see that many of you bucked the trend and went to get degrees.
At present , there is a lot of education bashing at the meetings. It seems that a meetings doesn't go by where someone brings up the evil higher education.
I know personally of two individuals that have quit university because of all this pressure.

Feb. 15th WT - WT Society says DFed Ones are Lawless- Just Like Demons
by flipper ini would assume that some or a good number of us here as normal humans in this society - consider " lawless " actions to include murder , robbery, extortion, rape, child abuse, war , terrorism, etc.
the wt society has their own definition of what's considered " lawless ".
anything that's considered a disfellowshipping offense in the jehovah's witnesses is now considered " lawless ".

who succeeded Fred Franz not as President but the theological guru
by ex-Special Pioneer infor decades fred franz was the guru of the watchtower bible & tract society.
he was obsessed with "biblical prophecy" trying to explain the book of daniel and revelation.
who took over after he stopped writing and who is considered the authority on the jws teaching today especially the so called "prophetic interpretation?

I don't think anybody could succeed Freddy (the oracle ) Franz. He was in a class of his own

WOW all the review questions relate to submission to the governing body. I guess if you are going to start the brainwashing process....might as well start right at the beginning. Thanks Marvin for putting that up on your blog.

The struggle to avoid being bitter
by crazycate ini dont want to be bitter.
but i now understand why some or many ex-jws are bitter.
i remember when i was an active zealous jw thinking, if someone wants to leave, go ahead and leave.

I have to agree with you Man in Black. As you, many of us are bitter because of what this organization has made us give up. When I think of my own life....the best years wasted going door to door for a publishing company......that gave me nothing in return.
I was angry and bitter for a long time. But at some point I realized that I was only hurting myself. So i've tried hard through the years to keep my watchtower experience boxed. OHH sometimes the bitterness comes back. That's when I acknowledge the bitterness and then try to put it back in the box and I try to be grateful that I realized the situation while I still have some time to pursue other things.
