Update on My Journey: 8 Years After the End of Watchtower Control
by passwordprotected ini last updated you guys almost 2 years ago here.. i thought i'd post an update.. the peace i discovered having decided to let the angst, worry and fear over what to believe is as strong as ever, although i am keeping more abreast of what jw.org (formerly known as wtbts) is up to, and i never cease to be shocked and surprised.. as my last post mentioned, i split from the jw girl i married in 1993 and both of us have moved on with new partners that better fit who we are as grown adults, rather than the children we were 23 years ago.. my partner has no religious background whatsoever, although her children are being raised as catholics by their father.
hearing her kids openly doubt, question and even ridicule the religion is heartwarming and exactly the way it should be.. as for my children, they continue to be a never-ending stream of joy and pride.. my oldest son is now 16, having been only 8 years old when we left the watchtower.
he had big anxiety problems for a while afterwards, worrying about armageddon etc.

JW.org videos....look like....
by Anders Andersen in.... i just looked through some videos on the scientology and the mormon youtube channels.animated whiteboard animations, bad acting, compelling music...it's all the same as jw.org...or the other way around.the similarity is very striking to me.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghjomvjadbghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxf3pwvjoka.
i wonder why that is....

....and the witnesses will say that they were first and mormons and scientology copied from them

Embracing, Not Running From, My Repressive JW Heritage, Finding A Few Things Worth Salvaging
by TMS inyes, we could have been born in an alley in calcutta or with the physical deformities associated with thalidomide.
instead, we were born into or introduced to a repressive, american, religious cult, that shielded us from the warmongering game of chess, the militaristic boy scouts, fornication-inducing sock hops, the twist, as well as the hokey pokey.
we heeded the warnings, avoiding the greedy self-worship associated with masturbation, decadent rock 'n roll and anything preceded by the word "extra-curricular.".

All those little skills are nothing compared to the damage this organization has done to many of us .

The video shows them using the word "disfellowshipped". I thought they got away from saying this and instead the proper jw terms would be " this person is no longer one of jehovah's witnesses. Are they going back to using the disfellowshipped word? I wouldn't be surprised if they did.

Why do witnesses feel the need to put JW ORG on all their social media sites?
by stuckinarut2 inhave you all noticed the obsession witnesses have of putting jw.org on all their social media sites like facebook, twitter, instagram etc?.
so many put it in their bio section...like some sort of loud proclamation to other witnesses that they are righteous and spreading the message.. it's also very lazy.
now with no personal effort at all, they can just say jw.org and be "witnessing".

I can't stand it anymore. They put the pins everywhere ad nauseum. Pretty soon no one will know them as jehovah's witnesses but only with the web name.
For those of us that grew up in the 1970's and early 1980's, you might remember that some used to wear small watchtower and awake pins. But generally these were discouraged. On my first day of high school, I put the pin on my new dress. I was so proud of it and my mom said it would show the "worldly" kids that I was a jehovah's witness and it would be a protection for me
What a poor deluded little girl I was

Thank you Wifi: you are the best. Most often safety goes out the window with jehovah's witnesses. Also why do they have to create their own standards? Aren't there plenty of government and industry standards far superior to these? I think so. But a narcissistic group of megalomaniacs has to be above. -

What baffles me the most, though, is why would this guy even take a call from an elder? He actually took the call, set an appointment, and sat down with two elders - so they could interrogate him! And get this... there is another meeting scheduled with him
It's superstition on the part of this man. Inside of him, there is still a little voice that has a hold on him.
