WTBTS and the Cross

does anyone have any idea why the cross is such a stumbling block to the wtbs and the jehovah's witnesses?

1 corinthians 1:18 describes their belief system to a "t".

What's wrong is the wt doesn't do that much research. In Christ's day Roman punishment was crucifixion. Meaning a cross beam over another beam. As for the proper language no greek word from koine exists, not even today.

As my observation over the years many JWs are self-centered and and not so sure of themselves. It's just my opinion, but why won't they hang around if their idea of God is so accurate? If their faith is really challenged their faith should be strong enough to take it....But instead thy run.

If Jehovah God is there with them why run?

Does It Mean One Religion?

at ephesians 4:5 reference is made to 'one faith'.

does this mean the faith of one religion or denomination or does it mean all united in one faith, that is faith in jesus christ as lord and savior regardless of the denomination or religion?

it seems to me one faith. You see over the many years of time I now realize that religion is profitable. Having this faith knowing God is among us all, that's all is required.

What's more the many people asked Him(Christ) a question....."Then they said to Him, What shall we do, that we may work the works of God? Jesus answered and said to them, This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."John 6:28-29...........

So many people think they must be approved by God, so they go out and work for their salvation.What Paul said in Galatians 3: 11 clearly states....."But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God, is evident for the just shall live by faith."

And here's one more......."For by Gace you have been saved through faith and not of yourselves it is the gift of God, not of works, least anyone should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9....

So in part having faith in God is sufficient. Oh.....you think Grace with faith isn't sufficient?

Paul says it's enough.........."And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." II Corinthians 12:9.

Jehovahs Witness Message Line - Northern Ca.

years ago when i was still an active witness, i happened across a phone number in the 'book' under jehovahs witnesses.

i called and it was a recorded message for witnesses, but it was an anti-witness message.

the message at the time compared what the watchtower teaches about the meaning of one of the verses in revelation and exposed it as a lie.

Before I reply about the telephone number I'd like to get more information on the issue at hand. I'm not really sure, if I know who the number belongs too. You see there are many Anti-watchtower information on the net and phones, mostly give account on revelations and compare of what the wt teach.

Would you give me more detail on it? thank you.......

i can recall when i was studying with my ex-inlaws in the blue, "truth," book, there's a chapter on, "why is it wise to study you're religion.

" there you'll discover it covers just a few tibbits on most major religions.

One of the major things the watchtower teach is learning religions and how important it is to find out if one is catholic or Baptist or so forth.

I can recall when I was studying with my ex-inlaws in the blue, "truth," book, there's a chapter on, "Why Is It Wise To Study You're religion." There you'll discover it covers just a few tibbits on most major religions. A few favorites are easter, christmas, and a few others. I knew where these things came from. I needn't need a jw to tell me about it. Then they'd go more into a person's religions.

Now days when I counter a jw I just tell them I'm a christian. Since a jw doesn't understand what a christian is, they try to identify you by asking you about Mary, mother of Jesus, or do you believe in the spiritual gifts, or miracles. I've discovered that, that way they(jws) can identify what religion you are. Or they ask what church do you belong to.

I just tell them that I may attend a local Baptist or pentecostal church. Or may attend a Calavery Chapal which is nondomination. Of course they might try to start a discussion on Baptists or pentecostal. I stop them from the start.

I explain I'm nondomination and I have a deep loving relationship with Christ not a religion. Many religions may have their short coming and I don't get involved in their legalistic debates and Christ has no faults. Plus Christ will never tell you one way or another you're dead wrong. Christ tells us how to follow Him and explain His adversary. Then I explain that in order to never error, follow Christ.

Of course trying not to error is a life time job, but at the same time if and when we do error we are christans and seek His face to repent.

I have no religion. I have faith in Christ. And one of the main points on being a christian is, Christ told us to follow Him not a religion.

So for those who study with JWs, you'll discover you're really studying the Watchtower principals with a few bible quotes. And if you ask them about it, they may say things like, " If you are going to become a citizen of a different country don't you study their ways?"

You say yes, but isn't it more important to learn of Our Savior Christ Jesus and study the gospel, then a man made organization which is known to have faults? Of course they may fall back and tell you that many religions fall short. Then you can explain to them many of our christian churches may differ, but the messege is clear......Christ Jesus is our one and only Savior.

The Right To Judge Others

yesterday our visiting elder-public speaker, cautioned against judging others.

he made allowance though for elders to judge or analyze the non-elders in the congregation.

i have always felt that distinctions based on position in the congregation are wrong.

MATT 7:1......."Judge not, that you be not judged."

Pretty straight, right? " Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgement." John 7:24.

Oh? would you not think this is a contradiction? In Matthew Christ were talking to hypocrites. And John spoke of ones with rightousness strength.

And to really get into it 1 Corinthians 2 13, 14 speak, " These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?But we have the mind of Christ."

Is judging correct? read Ephesians 5:11-13 & 2 Tim.223-26

How many Remnant are left? Anyone know?

i was just reading something and got to wondering..does anyone know how many of the remnant are left?

isn't "the end" supposed to come when they are all gone?.

and how can they be leading the faithful and discreet slave if they live in our area?

According of what was said back in the 1970s the, "Remnant Class," was nearing the end, due to 1914 talesin.

Before that generation was over,those alive then back in 1914, the end would come. Let's see now...that generation ended back in the 1980s. That makes what's left of the remnant would be over a hundred or more....

What I hear now is a generation might be a hundred.Will they make up their mind? Another thought is, according to the Watchtower Jehovah is the Editor in charge of all publications. Jehovah never makes errors........

If two elders showed up at your front door

and asked do you accept the faithful and distreet slave as jehovahs channel on earth (or something similar to that) what would you say/do?.

i would laugh my ass off and slam the door in their face.

this really happened to a friend of mine a long time ago.

I'd invite them in and explaine to them the salvation of Isreal in Romans 10. Now we know that Paul(Saul) was a jew and an Isrealite and he knows of his salvation.
