Deep Down Inside, Are You Prejudiced???

if you can be really honest with yourself, do you think that you exercise prejudice at times?

are you a person that makes disparaging remarks about certain groups because they are different from you?

if you feel that you're not a prejudiced person, do you see yourself stereotyping?

Since prejudice is defined as an unfavorable opinion about a group without knowledge beforehand, I can honestly say, I am not prejudiced.

I believe I do often stereotype. This is defined as an oversimplified standardized image or idea held by one person or group of another
Since my views aren't negative, I don't think I am prejudiced. I do tend to hold certain preconceived positive ideas about groups, i.e., Asians are usually intelligent, blacks all have rythym, latin men are sexy, etc. Is that a bad thing?

Loved & Lost?

The first time I fell in love, it was total, absolute, and pure. We stayed together for 4 years, and almost married. Losing him was (up until that point) the worst pain I had ever felt. It was another 4 years before I could bring myself to even date again, much less open the door to loving someone else.

I don't regret for one moment that I fell in love with him. He helped me learn a lot about myself, my strengths and weaknesses, my real thoughts about the WTS (although he stayed on the fringes and never left), and about being true to myself.

The thing about first love is, it never happens again. You never again have that open innocence, that dewy eyed optimism. But, even if first love does not turn out to be life long, it is such a wonderful thing while it lasts! So beautiful, so fun, so illuminating. ( This, of course, precluded your first love being a total jerk)

So, yes, I agree with the statement. And, my humble opinion, those that disagree do so out of fear, and miss out on the greatest joy of life, which is love.

If God And His Thoughts Are Perfect - How Did Humans & Satan Become Evil?

if a man creates a computer, using the best parts and software design with the intent of analyzing data accurately and reliably, would he also design it with the ability or freedom to 'crash' or spread viruses to other computers if it chose to?

if a man trains a dog with the intent of being a family pet, would he also give it the knowledge to kill humans or other animals?

You are reading my mind! These are the types of things that made me leave the WTS, and stop believing the Bible is "inspired". Even if someone has it twisted in their mind that the original sin was based on human choice, and was no fault of God, the question immediately arises (and has been discussed on this forum repeatedly), why have millions of people been made to suffer for the sins of two? Once the original two sinned, God KNEW their offspring had no chance. Then, according to the WTS, instead of forgiving the whole lot of us for something we can't help (sinning) he picks a certain few to favor. EGOMANIACAL at the very least, EVIL at most. If our justice system in the US jailed all generations of a family for a crime committed by an ancestor, how ridiculous and abhorrent would that be? And, really, who is without crime? Who has never sped while driving, or ran a yellow light, or taken a pen from their office, or whatever? So, since we all commit crimes (no matter how minor), should we not all then be in jail? Same flawed reasoning as the whole, we all sin and therefore all deserve death.

Theocratic Terms Explained.?

remember the old issue in the ministry school guidebook re theocratic terms.

well can i ask for some one to help me with " posting terms explained " .

i know i have had a sheltered life but what do those acronyms mean - btw lol borg (i can guess that one but it could have a number if subtle differences) etc etc i think i can guess some of them but can anyone give some definition to all those odd little expressions used in posts here - which are fine if you know the meaning - but for boring old ***** like me i havent got a clue?

How ADDICTIVE is this site???

when i came (in the mundane sense), over this board, it was thrilling to find others who had the same viewpoints, insights, and completely opposing shitty religious fairy tales.. after lurking and now, posting, i have to put a clock by my pc.

no more than half an hour a night.

(that is why i jump in sometimes, and get folks angry...).

It's so addictive that I risk not getting my work done to post here. I don't turn on the computer at home, almost ever, so work hours are the only times I can read and post. I have occasionally let work pile up because something so fascinating was going on here that I couldn't tear myself away. I will start to wean myself very soon.

You are not the only one, I have asked this question repeatedly. I also compare it to a sterile environment. If the environment is sterile, it will stay that way until something else is introduced. So, where does that something else come from? If God's creations were all perfect, in other words sterile, then where die imperfection come from?

Can a J-Dub conduct a Bible study without a WTS publication?

if j-dubs claim to be the authority on bible literacy and teaching, then why can't they conduct a bible study or preach without a wts publication?

if i claimed to be an authority on shakespeare during a conversation with a friend, would i pull out a book written by someone else that explained it?

how does that prove that i understand shakespeares work?
