  Is it Possible to Love More than One Person?

  i think that love takes on many facets.

  i think that admiration is one of these facets.

  sexual desire is another.

  It is definitely possible, and I would think almost probable. If you have meaningful relationships with those of the opposite sex, and you find them at all physically attractive, it's difficult not to fall in love.

  The problems come into play when one person "in love" wants something different than the person they are "in love" with. I personally would not be able to sustain a close relationship with someone who shared physical intimacy with someone other than me. However, there are lots of people who are fine with "open marriages" and that's ok too. The key is to be with someone who thinks along the same lines as you, and thereby avoid unintentional emotional harm.

  i'm not for discriminating against people based on religion, and the government should indeed do its best to accomodate people's religious inclinations, but i think i'll have to side with the government in this case, and against the religious people.. http://news.mpr.org/features/200212/12_stawickie_licenses/

  No, in this case, they ARE treating everyone the same, requiring a Driver's license to be a legitimate form of identification. Damn hard to identify someone with a veil on, don't you think?

  I have to echo Francois (scary though that is ), and say I actually agree with the government 100% on this one, a rare occurence. I also agree that if you don't like the laws, you should leave.

  The FOX television network is supposed to air a two hour show next week that shows portions of the interview that were not aired. This show is supposedly from Michael's point of view. I hate to admit it, but I will watch, just to get an example of how much, if at all, the original interview was skewed to present only one side of the picture.

  i sat on my hands for months, wrote emails that i never sent, and finally i told my family about the un scandal.

  my mom still loves me although she disagrees, but my sisters told her that they are having a family get together and i'm not invited because i'm an apostate.

  my mom says if they are going to talk about me then she isn't going.

  This is exactly why I left. If I can't speak my mind, and believe what logic tells me to believe, then I am useless. I admire you for your courage in talking to your family. I haven't talked to mine about the reasons I left, although it's been more than 10 years. They associate with me, but don't invite me to their "witness" parties, so I miss out on anniversaries and stuff like that. I have it a lot better than most, though.

  Good luck to you, and thanks for being part of my "family".

  Black History Month.. and a great Documentary

  hbo, did an excellent documentary on former slave narratives that were archived 70 years ago and just have become more accessable.

  this is what taught history skirts around and should not.

  to forget ones past is a dangerous thing.

  Great site, and I hope to spend more time on it in the future. Segregation, IMHO, is and was one groups way of making themselves feel good by acting as though they are superior to another group.

  My sincere hope is that within my son's life, there won't be a need for "Black History Month" because history will be taught truthfully, with acknowledgement of the mistakes and good decisions that went into the making of America. I would like to see true recongition given to all the races, sexes, etc. that contributed to making the US what it is today.

  My heart breaks for poor Laci and her son (she was pregnant with a boy). I try so hard to keep an open mind, but I just can find no evidence to believe that her husband is not behind her disappearance. When he was interviewed on TV, he was asked if Laci knew about his affair. He said she did. He was asked if she was upset. He said she wasn't "happy" but she wasn't angry. Let's just look at this stupid story. He had not told his mistress that he was married, but he told his pregnant wife??? And she WASN'T ANGRY???????????? She's pregnant with HIS child, he's screwing around on her and she WASN'T angry???? Oh my GOD???????? Aren't there drugs that can force a person to tell the truth? Why can't we use them? I understand people can fool a polygraph, but not the drugs. I mean, this is not just his wife, maybe he doesn't love her anymore, this is also his SON!!!!!!!!!!! This is the kind of thing that makes me hope there is some kind of hell, for people who do terrible, horrible, heartless things like this.

  frankly, if you are that overweight, you should pay for two seats, pure and simple.

  why should someone have to be crushed by someone obese?

  It always pisses me off when people try to use the whole "back of the bus" routine to compare why their situation should be changed to their liking. One thing has absolutely nothing to do with the other. If you are taking up two seats, then you should pay for them. If it turns out that the flight is not full, and there are two seats together that no one is sitting in, then apply for a refund. But, bottom line, if you are sitting in two seats, you are preventing the airline from having another paying passenger in that seat. Heaven knows the airlines are struggling with the aftermath of 9/11, so each passenger is that much important. While I do think the seats should be widened, I don't think they should make them to accomodate an obese person. I don't think I have a prejudice, I could care less what a person looks like or what they eat, or where they go, but I do care when they are sitting in my freakin' lap!!!!!!!!
