i need some reassurance here !.

i spoke to my aunt the other day who has been out of the borg for about 20 years now.

she told me that she is really worried about world events and feels that this is it now, the un is going to crumble and then armageddon is going to come.

Blind Date

hello, all.. it's been a lonnnnnng time since i've been to the forum.

i've missed all (okay...most) of you.. anyway.... i was watching the american television show 'blind date' last night and this woman got matched up with some religious, born-again nut!

when they meet each other, he starts handing her religious material, a book, a tract, and.........the greatest man who ever lived book!!!.

i assume a high percentage of those that post & read posts here are either still witnesses, disfellowshipped, disassociated, or just drifted away from the organization.

i'm sure many of us remember well the beliefs of the wts about the scenario leading up to armageddon & i wonder how many of us still think about that kind of thing.

i recall the idea that there would be a declaration of peace & security & every time i hear a political leader or un leader use terms like that my ears perk up.

I posted a topic very similar to this as it concerned me aswell, one other thing that would have to happen I believe is that religion would have to be banned. Also I think something happens with the kings or north and king of south, i.e another world power comes up.....not sure on that one though.

Still getting 2 windows updates daily -- WHY?

every day i receive 2 or 3 windows automatic updates.

that has been going on since 1 month atleast.. i have windows xp pro who else has 2 updates a day with windows xp??

mmmm, we have XP pro and it dont do that. I have asked it to just do and update and let me know if there is software, so far in the last month have not had any. Think there is a bug, you need to go to the help centre and you can e mail someone from there to help you.

i saw a fight break out on the platform between an elder and a unbelieving husband who accused the elder of f---ing his wife.

he then threw the lectern on the floor and pushed the elder.

it was cool.......

A number of things, my hall was in a rough area.

An intoxicated unbelieving husband who was absolutely enourmous, took about 4 bros to lock him down in the basement.

Someone walking in on the middle of the public talk asking where two sisters were - also pissed.

In the middle of a song that people didnt know a bible study shouted, can everyone sing up please.

My Sister getting told off for pretending to shoot a kid in the hall by its parents

Powercut in a hall with no windows or emergency lighting at night

People singing the wrong song - I've done that one too !

Someone taking pics of a friend doing a school assignment and putting them completely off it

If I think of any more I will come back.

Funny people in your Congregation

ok so who has got stories about funny people in your cong,.

we had one guy who used to recite really long prayers, you would see people shifting from foot to foot as he recited extracts from the lords prayer in with his, he used to knock on doors and when they didnt answer shout through the letter box saying "i know your home" if they did actually come he would keep them talking for ages even after they said they werent interested.

he even wrote to tony blair and told him how he would die at armageddon, the society recieved a letter of complaint and he got banned from pioneering.
