Are You in a Position to Help JWs and Ex-JWs???
by Prisca inhow many of us here are in the position to help jws seeking answers to their doubts and questions, as well as ex-jws who may be wondering if they've made the right decision?do you feel you have the resources to answer their questions on jw doctrines?how about providing emotional and/or spiritual help?and if you are in the position to do so, would you?.
i often wonder just how many people are out there, jws and ex-jws alike, who need someone to talk to about their jw experiences, to ask questions and find assurance.
how many of them are unaware that there are people available to help them?

I am going to a meeting tomarrow
by liquidsky inmy mother called me last night an begged me to go to the meeting tomarrow.
she has asked me to go numerous times during the last year, and i have made excuses everytime of why i can't attend.
last night she begged so i'm thinking that theres either a local needs talk that she wants me to hear or its the co visit.

This may sound harsh but dont go. If you go to this meeting then they will convieniently make arrangements for you to attend one in a week or so and gradually try and get you back into it. Do you really think that they will let you off on that one meeting ?
If you get Da'd well it aint such a bad thing, you will be free of it all, you have friends and it will give you that much needed break away from it all.
Good luck and keep us all posted.

"Shock and awe" . . . my butt
by teejay inthat phrase -- along with "weapons of mass destruction" -- is a term that i hope soon passes out of popular use.
i wonder who coined that phrase: "shock and awe.
" i'm sure they are terribly proud of themselves... the idiots.

I only said Op Peace as a example, yeah your right, there is no peace at the moment but surely the hope at the end of this is that the Iraqi people will be able to build themselves better lives and have a chance at a decent existence with the help of the UK/US/UN. Yeah the UN have proved completely useless but I somehow believe that it is the best if any flag to be used as it is a way of saying or giving hope to the people "We are here to help you !"
Sorry if I offended but thats how I personally feel.

Well said Teejay. I could not believe how inapropriate and big headed that phrase was, along with the putting of the stars and stripes on that building, as if to say "we have conquered". How would we like it. It should of been Op Peace or Op New Iraq and if any flag was to be flown it should of been that of the

JW's Should Not Wear Too Much Makeup Or Baggy Clothing Per New KM
by minimus inif you weren't quite sure how jehovah god expects you to dress, the april 2003 km helps us to see his viewpoint.
"well-arranged dress shows reverence for god" is the article that assists us to know god's feelings on these matters.
i will give you some quotes from the article: "soon we will have the privilege of being jehovah's guests at the 2003 ' give god glory' disctrict convention.

Minimus what you doing reading the KM ?
I remember someone turning up in a chinese costume at the convention......no word of a lie, he walked in on his own and people seriously thought he was in his PJ's, he then got tackled by some elders ! Funniest thing I ever saw at a convention

What's The STRANGEST Thing You've Seen At A Kingdom Hall?
by minimus ini saw a fight break out on the platform between an elder and a unbelieving husband who accused the elder of f---ing his wife.
he then threw the lectern on the floor and pushed the elder.
it was cool.......

Another one...........
When we studied the family book and the term Spanking was brought up, over here in sunny ol' England Spanking is a term for sexual slaps of bondage of some sort. Naturally the 25 year old brother having to do the reading of the paragraphs almost keeled over in hysterics !
