Sorry Realist, I am entitled to my own opinion - are we going back to the JW thinking here where we cant say what we think ? Sorry I for one speak my mind. Being so close to France I have had a lot of dealings with them, personally I dont like them and their attitude. But I certainly am not going to get into an argument about it and turn the whole point of the thread around - I have made my point.

My Memorial Experience-not so good
by wednesday inwell i just got back form the memorial, and well it was not all loving and warm like scobbysnax had.
two or three couples spoke to us, not one elder.
an elder came up to some people who had apparently just showed up for the first time, and they were all over them.

KEEP THIS IN REMEMBERENCE OF ME ( LAST SUPPER )
by nightwarrior intheres still time to partake.. having conducted the ritual of the last supper my wife daughter & myself held the ceremony asked for by jesus christ.
we all ate the bread, we all drank the wine.i even ate and drank for those of us so called apostates who could not or would not partake ,i felt that the watchtower or organization was and has been a stumbling block for many true christians, they are the ones keeping people away from jehovahs loving kindness, they are the ones not allowing the scriptures to be fulfilled they are the stumbling block to many honest people ,.
we all feel a special peace and tranquility effecting the house,we have eaten the body of jesus & drank his blood in doing this we have given ourselves freedom of worship ,we won't rely on any organization to do this for us.. we never used the bible.. as jesus never used any bible therefore we kept with real tradition in doing this.we used our hearts and spirit.. what are you going to do .celebrate or not its your choice.. .

Between three of us we had a bottle of Whiskey and some Rum - Yum Yum. Bread, well in the morning I had bacon rolls so hopefully that will count.

HELP! My JW parents are trying to steal my daughter
by calamityjane ini just phoned my daughter who is 23 years old, and she is graduating from college in toronto this june.
i thought because there were some great flight offers that i would be spontaneous and be there for her graduation and just do a mother daughter thing of celebrating.
well i just phoned her, to tell her that i would like to be there, and she hits me with the bombshell that my parents will be there and staying with her.

Shes YOUR daughter not your parents. Go because you have the right to be there ! it will mean so much more to your daughter that you attended, and if it doesnt then well, you need to get her back from the evil JW clenches.

I cut off my last ties to the JWs today.
by NaruNaruChan inmy old best friend had to return my dvd to me from six months ago... she lost it, so she paid me back.
it was an interesting situation, because i had been speaking to her up until the beginning of april, when if you remember i posted asking for advice on what to do about it.
i was too weirded out talking to her, so i decided to tell her to shun me.

Well done NNC its probably for the best. Personally I tried to keep the friends that wanted to still talk to me after I had left but the few that did continue only hurt me later on, now I just have one clinging on to get rid of and that will be it. I have made plently of other friends and they have stood by me.
Lets raise our glasses to the future NNC !

I finally went to the grave site, and it was a definate reality check......
by Jesika intoday, i was passing by where she was buried.
i went back to the office and told them i couldn't find her.
she had been buried in 1996!!!!!!!!

Personally I believe in the afterlife and believe she will have seen that YOU went and saw her grave and paid respect.

Wednesday - I am sorry to hear about your bad experience - Can you feel the love ?
Maybe this is telling you something - put it all behind you, this is your closure and this is your proof, now get on with your life and be happy, you are away from it now so you can put the witnesses behind you. Dont get to the day you die and think "Damn I wish I had put all that behind me and not wasted my life with those people" like so many will.

At what age did you join the Witnesses?

at what age would a person have to be to join the witnesses and not suffer too much?.
if they are children, it robs their youth.. if they join in the teens, they won't get a decent education.. if they join at 20 years old, they will have to marry a witness.. if they join at 30, i guess that would be less destructive because they already are married, have children, have a house, an education and a job.. at what age did you join, and how did it affect you?

Ah well thats bloody France for you - how do you think us brits feel, I went to the coast today and can see the French coastline, that was bad enough, but then on the way home, see a coach full of bloody froggie kids.
Its not just you america that is fed up with them - its us aswell, just be glad you dont have a tunnel joining your country to theirs !
Did anyone hear aswell that Chirac had to apologise to Blair as British Wargraves there had been desecrated with slogans such as "you will die in iraq" !!!!
