  What Did You Hate About The Circuit OV.'s Visit?

  i think that there a number of things about the circuit overseer's visit that stinks!

  one thing that i hated was how all the elders got together to "shepherd" the flock right before the co's visit.....what bothered you about the week long visit??

  True, True Refiner ...didn`t think of that ...obviously I was a evil possesed one from the start as I think I was the only one that thought it was funny...I was not able to see that stronger forces were at work and that the holy `winds` of jehovahs spirit commanding his every word.....talking of evil posession another incident comes to mind where as a teenager the rage was ......ahhhh evil of evil TUBULAR BELLS (Mike Oldfield) and those of you old enough to know it will know that it was the soundtrack to The Exorcist - well I went and brought this evil LP...and did I cop it...Mother insisted that it got thrown in the RIVER as I brought evil into the house....well I was devastated.....anyways tI got to thinking about that about a year ago..and went and brought a DVD of same..how freeing was that I can tell ya...sowwy nothing to do with the topic but interesting little story ...

  What Did You Hate About The Circuit OV.'s Visit?

  i think that there a number of things about the circuit overseer's visit that stinks!

  This is not really what I hate but funny all the same.............I remember going to an assembly once where the CO was having a very spiritual talk on something on high priority...when a huge gust of wind started to blow around his one strand of hair (that obviously had been slicked down over his bald head with copius amounts of brylcream)....well this happened for the whole 2 hour talk...where one strand of hair gusted around and around while he continued as if nothing was wrong....it took some constraint for the observers to NOT giggle.....a very funny moment I will remember..got no idea what the talk was about by the way!

  The angels catch our tears and put them into bottles
  ..............................................................................angels keep records of every church service on earth

  All that tear collecting and keeping records...man, what a job..think I`m happier being a mere mortal (and never seen my mum doing any of the above activities)........Seems like hard work to me!

  Okay, so the article DIDN'T address the voyeuristic and sadistic questioning by the elders after the rape. Damn it's so disgusting and downright evil. I am so sorry for the JW women who have to deal not only with the horror of violation but then having to undergo the third degree or even having their own consciences yell at them for their "shame".

  Paranoid Schizophrenia

  this is an issue that i've had to look into due to the extreme paranoia of my mother.

  it's getting ridiculous.

  and it get's worse everytime she reads the publications.

  Certainly I believe that religion can influence the degree of paranoia that one may mainifest - my experience is that when my mother was younger she was worse, much worse than what she is now....BUT she did`nt have much to do with me for 20yrs so not sure how she worked through it. I remember a `sister` in my cong when I was younger who stated she used to `see` devils in her bedroom...no-one questioned her about it - in fact they were almost in AWE that someone may have had this experience. My daughter is a PS and the influence of my folks (the dub ones) seriously affects her hallucinations and delusions - my folks state often that satan`s power is working through the popular ornaments and statues thats she has of wizards etc...you can imagine the UNhelpfulness of such comments!.....Sorry you are experiencing this and hope the future gets better for you!

  Therapists

  i have found that therapists can cause harm ...often making things worse..... .

  has anyone ever found this to be true and....what makes for a good therapists?????????????.

  Theapists use a range of `theories` to work from and usually tailor them individually! The `usefulness` of therapists is often attributed to what theory they structure their work practice on...Some can specialise in a particular field ie addictions, relationship or families etc. The success of a particular therapist is due in part to the client assisting the process - although sometimes a `personality clash` may interfere with the process and a good therapist will be alert to that and offer another competent therapist. Psychological theories are comprehensive and vary as to the therapist own personal preference and what the client may need at the time - sometimes they may get it wrong! For the majority of the time the success in finding a good therapist is to find one that specialises in the issue you want to deal with and ALWAYS ensure they are registered with an association. For a more comprehensive case management approach to problem solving a social worker can also assist - they work from a wider range of theories that include, psychology, sociology and anthroplogical theories. Hope this helps.....
