If you flip a coin 19 times and get heads there is still a 50/50 chance that if you flip it again you will get heads. Whether or not a pregnant parent will have a boy or a girl is not in any way effected by the gender of previous children. It is still a 50/50 shot. If you are asking about the probability of 1 child it will always be 50/50.
Now, if you are going to ask about *2* unknowns then you can factor it in. 2 sisters are pregnant, what is the probability they will both have boys? Then the fact that you are comparing 2 unknowns will effect the probability and you will end up with a 1 in 4 shot that they will both be boys. But in the scenario you provided there is only 1 unknown and, therefore, the only probability is based on that one unknown which is a 50/50 shot. You are falling into a trap that many fall into. Random acts such as this are not biased by previous random acts, otherwise they would not be random.

Slaves in the household--what would happen?
by sd-7 in"who really is the faithful and discreet slave [class and its governing body], who the master appointed over his domestics [anointed ones, otherwise known as 'house slaves', as opposed to the field slaves] to give them their food at the proper time?
happy is that slave if the master on arriving finds him doing so.
truly i tell you, he will appoint him over all his belongings [the field slaves and all that they own].".

I have to say, the title of this thread led my twisted mind in a whole different direction from that of the thread itself. It was an enjoyable romp, though, thanks! ;)

And a quote from the article that is being referred to:
How, then, are we to
understand Jesus’ words about “this generation”?
He evidently meant that the lives of the anointed
who were on hand when the sign began to become
evident in 1914 would overlap with the lives of other
anointed ones who would see the start of the great
tribulation. So with this definition an annointed born in 1914 could die tomorrow, but if one of the annointed is born today their generations overlap so armageddon need not necessarily come until before the annointed born today passes away? Something like that, I think. A nice little extension, to be sure.

Hi, faundy!!!
I don't pay attention much to doctrine threads... I think, though, that they changed it so a generation could be overlapping or some such silliness.
Anywho, we have missed you! I hope you and your family are doing well. A thread for your dad is resurrected every year so he is still loved and thought of here. And all the werewolfers miss you playing. ;)
Much love,

Hard question
by dgp ina question for all those who managed to do it.
when you realize that it's unrealistic to expect someone in the wt to ever leave, and when you see the damage it does you to keep hoping, and to keep trying to get them out, how do you manage the pain?.
what do you do when you know that someone has spoiled the only life that person will ever have, yet you can't reach to them?.

I offer the same respect to my family members' choices that I expect them to offer mine. If they ask why I don't believe, I'm happy to tell them. I don't offer information unless they request it because I know it's not what they want to hear. By the same token, I don't ask them questions as I don't want to be preached to and if they preach to me on their own I shut the conversation down completely. It's no different than any other life decision I may disagree with. It is not my place to make decisions for my family. If they ask for my opinion or my advice I will be happy to offer it. Beyond that, they are adults and the choice is theirs to make. Just as my choices are mine to make. It simply comes down to acceptance of who they are.
