In no way is this meant argumentativly, but why all the hype over the true name of God being Jehovah? The true hebrew form of the word had no vowels. So the true name of God could just as easily be Jehivah or Juhavah, or something similiar, couldn't it?

It's hard to imagine saving Osama over my dog. I love my dog! But the bible says that giving a kind word to your enemy heaps coals on his head, I wonder what saving his life would do? Not trying to be holier than thou, Just thought it was an interesting thought.

if they are honest with themselves it is because have a fear or death or of non-existence.

I think it is funny when people say that people invent God, because they are afraid of death. If there were no God, and you just slep eternally when you died, wouldn't that be easier than believing in God. I mean if you entertain the though of God, than you have to think about the bible, and how he wants you to live your life, and whether you are going to hell or heaven. Who want's to think that they are going to hell? I think it would be much easier to say there is no God,a nd I can live however I want, and when I die, that's it. When you look around you, it's obvious that all of nature's glory did not create itself. That's where the beggining is.
as most of you folks know, non-witness family members are treated almost the same way as jw's treat disfellowshipped people.
after leaving the borg, fully or partially, has anyone had good results in reestablishing relationships with non-witnesses family relatives?
i've got over a dozen cousins that i'd like to have a relationship with once again, but i'm not sure the best way to break-the-ice.
Cyberguy- I am on the opposite end, with friend and family that have treated me badly because I was a nonJW. From my point of view, you only care about what people think of you, when you truly care about them. I think about my family and friends every day. If they went through their ordeal, and were to come to me and want my forgivness, or love, I would welcome them with open arms. Everybody makes mistakes. The best you can do is admit that you are human, and go from there, Remember that they are human too, still love you, and have been praying for you to come back to them.
doing the "fade" thing is like a slow, painful torture to me.
i have to do the fade because of my current circumstances (wife being a jw but starting to doubt/both our families very strong jw's).
it makes me angry at having wasted so much time and energy (and money) being a jw.
This is just my .02, but I think all religions are filled with truth and nontruths. Someone pointed out to me once that if you count scripture, the scripture directly in the middle of the bible says "It is better to trust in God, then in man." I think that God does everything on pourpose, and has a plan, always two steps ahead of everyone else. I am no tperfect, or anything close to it, but don't let religion turn you off to God. Even the JW's can have certain aspects correct. That doesn't mean they speak for God. Only God speaks for God. I don't entertain thoughts that my opinion could mean much to you, but I just want to offer some friendly advice. Read God's word and let him tell you what you can trust from what you have learned, and what he wants to teach you himself. It seems to me that the best trick the devil has, is false religions that poison you on God's word altogether. Forget men, and let his word speak to you. That's the best advice I have.

Herk-you have commented on the question you ask and wonder ouloud if I will ever answer your post.Here is my answer-No. I told you that I will not be held to ideas of courtesy if they are not returned. I have read this post and it's all about THOSE TRINITARIANS! Their dishonest, their this their that. You rebuked me for being heavy handed in my wording, and then when I tried to explain to you that my intent was not to be rude, you informed me that I was being TOUCHY. You said instead of being defensive, I should take a lesson. So, I thought about it, and came back with a reformed attitude. I tried to be non aggressive, not accusatory, and submit my ideas in a polite way. I did my best to play nice. Then you make accusations and call trinitarians dishonest. When I call you on it, you refuse to switch gears, and instead launch another attack on me, and start giving examples that you feel to be lies, and therefor give you the right to call trinitarians generally dishonest. But I am a trinitarian and I feel like all the statements that have been made against the trinity are lies. Does that give me the right to call nontrinitarians GENERALLY DISHONEST? According to you it does not, and I should change my tone if I want people to listen to what I have to say. You however, I guess are under a different set of rules, and can refer to people however you feel lke it. Don't tell me how I started this thread. I am well aware of how I started this thread. I am now ready to leave this chat that I started.Not because as several of you seem to believe that I have no evidence to support what I believe, but because of the hypocrisy. Herk you yourself said that it's hard to get people to listen to you when you call them liers, and then you say trinitarians are generally dishonest. That was an uncalled for generalization. If this is going to be a free for all than let's call it that.If your'e going to demand others be respectful and not name call than you should hold yourself to the same standards. Second if you will respond to my thread about Jesus and why he was crucified, and what the laws were for the Jews on killing people according to your studies I will address every point you have made, but agian only if you are prepared to offer the same respect that you demand from others.
