Your old things can make a big difference!!!
by Vee ina big hi to you all this day!.
you may have read in an earlier post that i''ve been fortunate enough to be accepted to do volunteer work in a school/orphanage in accra ghana, east africa this coming january.. i'm in the process of trying to get together things which will be of use to the school since they have so very little.
this afternoon i received an e-mail from the school asking me to bring old school bags and board games of scrabble.

Atheist? Agnostic? Theist? Polytheist???...
by Vee inif you are a theist and i assumed for a long time i was, this means we were acknowledging that there is a singular god as creator.
now that your thoughts have changed do you question whether all of those years of heartfelt prayer, and pouring out of your inner most thoughts to (jehovah) god were actually transmitted?
is it possible that if we trully believed in our minds heart that what we perceived to be the "truth" in the jw org and the only way in which to reach god, that god (jehovah) would have accepted our prayers as sincere, and the context or the avenue in which we reached him was irrelevant?.

I'm so excited!!!
by Vee ini've just found out that my application for volunteering in ghana has been accepted!!
i can't tell you how much i'm really looking forward to this challenge.. i've recently moved to london in the hope that i would be able to pick up some project work in the 3rd world country.
i registered with www.workingabroad.com who fitted out my profile with 80 prospects of ngo's i could apply with, and was successful with applications in mexico, india and ghana.

Following on from Brummies topic...
by Vee ini've read several references to 'apostafests' & various other gatherings that have been held for ex-dubs to get together.
i'm very curious to know if these are formal or informal type affairs?
are they just held between known aquaintances?

Does anyone know where I can get a copy?
by Vee ini'd really appreciate any tips on where i can get a copy of 'crisis of conscience' by raymond v. franz from.
i'd prefer to get a copy online, and i imagine it's not the typical stock that my local books etc will stock!.
i have looked on amazon, and other searches that have come up within yahoo, but so far they're either out of stock, or don't ship outside of the us.

How did you successfully move on...?
by Vee inthere are actually some questions at the bottom of this lengthy thesis, however i thought a bit (ha ha) of background might be necessary first:-) .
some 12months ago after the switch flicked over in my head, i began the challenge of facing my fears head on, which led to breaking through the first mental barriers of the damage done by 22 years (from birth) of indoctrination.. the fear of loosing all i had was insignificant in comparison to denying myself any further what it really meant to be true to myself.
for the first time, i could honestly attribute that all my mental strength and decisions were of my own accord.
